I just gave it a first trial and so far so good but was wondering if there's a better way.
I have the original in the front right corner of the room Audyssey tuned and in max extension. My understanding is Audyssey doesn't tune for two subs so I didn't bother to re-run the setup.
I put the new sub in the front left and set the phase to the opposite value of the other and put the new one in max output. Thoughts? I figured I'll get the higher output and then the extension from the other one. Good idea or no?
Audyssey MultEQ X32 kind of tunes both subs. It "pings" each sub independently to set the distance & levels. It then measures the subs together(you want it to do this anyhow) to generate filter offsets.
However, I'm not sure what receiver you have. If it's the TX-NR807, then no, you'll will need to do some fine tuning for each sub. I would run Audysseey using just the primary, see what distance it gives you. I would then unplug it, plug the other sub in & see what distance it gives you, average the two & that will be your final. However, getting them pretty equal distance from the main listening position, would be ideal. If it would be me, beings you are running duals I'd run both in max extension in anything under 5000cu ft.
I'm not sure the location & phasing that you are suggesting is best either. I would head over to the sub woofer section & read up on placing multiple subs. Once you have everything set up & tweaked though, it should be awesome!
