Any opinions? I was thinking about Monitor Silver 5i's, Def. Tech 2006tl. Any help is much appreaciated, these will be used for modern rock (pearl jam ect.) and will be coupled with a center and surrounds (in the spring) from the same manufacturer

check out the klipsch reference series. You can get a pair for much less than 1000 and maybe buy a sub.

Also B&W 603 s2's are around 1000 a pair. check those out
