ps3 on 720p projector

I use a 720p projector on a 120 inch screen and it's been said before by several designers: the PS3 was made to display on a huge screen and it is certainly true. Plus, you get the added benefit of not burning the image.

I play on my HD1000U all the time. It looks fantastic. Razor sharp.

will the hd1000u or any current 720p projector acept a 1080p signal from the ps3 and then downconvert. thanks in advance for any reply.

Yup...the HD1000U accepts the 1080p signal without a hitch.

ditto for the IN76 on 118" screen

Same for my Optoma HD72 converting 1080p to 720p on a 106" High Power screen, incredibly sharp and bright. The only way to go.

ps3 projected by sanyo z4 onto 110" blackout screen is gorgeous as well...

I've used my PS3 on my Pansonic 900U when I have friends over and I can say that it looks great.

Looks fantastic on my Sony home theater projector.

Looks great on my Sony HS10. I have a EDTV plasma as well, and any HD material looks superior to my flatscreen. Sure, at 42" vs. 135", you would think the 42" would look sharper because of the smaller screen size, but that HD resolution goes to good use on the front projector.

Epson Powerlite 400 (720p) ona 100" DIY screen. Couldn't be happier, very bright.

My HD70 also accepts 1080p and the PS3 looks great on it.

Which projector did you go with? (Apologize if you posted it and I missed it) I'm using the Panny AE900U and couldn't be happier with the output. The only problem I had was a semi washed out image when playing Resistence with some ambient lighting. I think because Resistence is a little dark to begin with.

With the new firmware, I'm kind of in a quandary on what to set the ps3 to. 1080p is definitely best for games that support it and BD, letting the projector scale back to 720p, but I don't want to upconvert ps1/2 games to 1080p and then have the projector down convert back to 720p. So, best case is to run ps3 games and BD at 1080p, but only have ps1/2 and dvd's upscaled to 720p...Just have to figure out what settings will give me that with full (wide) screen...
