Wall-Fishing

I'm sure this has been brought up before but I couldn't find a good thread about it so I'll ask here. What are some of the ways to conceal wiring when there are no drop ceilings and no access to above or below the room. I've heard of cutting small slits in the drywall and tucking cables in that way but I'm just looking for other methods of hiding wires in tough situations.

If you cant get into the walls, you really only have a couple of options:

wireless: if the item you are working with can do it.
drywall/carpet padding/baseboards: this is risky. I have seen some that is very good, and others that looked like speed bumps in the road. Running a dado in the backside of a baseboard is the best way. You go into the wall high and out low where the baseboard is. This requires that you pull long lengths of it off. It can be made to look very good. If you royally screw it up, you can replace baseboard.

I like that baseboard idea. In this particular case I'm only running one RG6 line for a subwoofer so I can just use a table saw to slot out the baseboard on the backside and run the cable down it. Thanks for tip LuncHwagon.
