HERE

Wow! Nice CAST too. Didn't think any studio had the cajones to make this one. It's the "anti-Narnia". Slows down a little bit at the end, sort of becomes Milton, but still a great read.

I can't wait to see how they handle the movies.

Suprised there's been no comments on this. Thought there'd be more interest in it considering what a big success the book series it's been and what a contraversial topic it is.

I too am surpirsed. My son tore through the 3 books in about 2 weeks. The trailer looks great - should be a fun ride.

It will be interesting to see if it's a trilogy or they handle it all in one movie. The third book took a very anti-dogmatic/Christian Church turn. I can't see them making a movie out of it.

All the pro-Christian groups would go nuts if they stayed true to the books.

That trailer tries too hard. It does nothing to inspire. It's just a big fat synopsis.

The movie is still in production. They don't even have the daemons ready (which would be a big part of the movie).

I don't know man, I'm all for anti-god stuff....but this movie looks LAME.

The books aren't "anti-God" anything. As I already stated it's more anti Catholic church dogma than anything. They're very deeply rooted in fantasy. All 3 books in the series were huge hits.

Did you read them?

I never even heard of them until this thread. I haven't read a fantasy book since I read the Narnia series in 1985.

They're a great follow up to Narnia to be sure. Philip Pullman wrote them with Narnia in mind. I suggest you give Golden Compass a try.

Sounds cool! I'll check it out for sure. No reason not to now!

The 5 minute long 1080p Comicon Trailer is up. Movie looks to be coming along quite nicely.

Bump.

I really encourage people to check out this 5min trailer. If you are into the book, (or even if not) I think this movie is shaping up to be the big hit of the holiday 2007 season.

It also looks like this is only the first part in a two-parter or a trilogy.

I highly recommend everyone who loved the Chronicles of Narnia to go out and read these these books before the movies come out.

5 minutes? Too long. I'd rather go in cold.

There is a shorter 2min theatrical trailer on Apple's website HERE.

Either way it doesn't matter much. It appears to be pretty much faithfull to the book so you're not going to spoil anything by watching either one. If you've read the book it seems to be EXACTLY the same. It suprises me how much they've got it down. Exciting stuff.

What I wonder is what will happen when they get to the 3rd book? That's the one when they start to get into the metaphysical stuff, with the fall of heaven...It's pretty much "Dante's Inferno". I don't know how this one is going to go over well... But we'll see if it even gets that far.
