My question is, will Best Buy repair or replace my set for free even though it's only under manufacturer warranty and I didn't buy a Best Buy service plan? This is what they have on their website: "We perform and process repairs during the warranty period, as part of a service plan, or for a fee."
I could read this one of two ways. One, it's a list that says they'll repair it if it's under the warranty, or if it's part of a service plan, or for a fee. Or two, it's saying that they'll do it under the warranty period only if you have a service plan, or for a fee. I have read some on this thread, but everyone seems to have gotten the the service plan. Does anyone know what they do if I don't have one?

call Westinghouse. complain about your TV. They with tell you to do some stupid things like turn your TV off, unplug it for several seconds....etc. Do all that (or dont) and call them back in a few days saying that you still have the problem. Now they should tell you that you can replace your TV at local BB store. They will call you back within a week and tell you confirmation number, wait another 2-5 business days (it has to process and go through the system) and go to BB store confirm that they received the number, bring your TV for replacement. (if BB store does not carry the model anymore, they can order it from Westinghouse or they should give you any other brand equally priced). Once you get confirmation number its all up to your Best Buy store, Westinghouse has nothing to do with this.
PS. Westinghouse has great customer support !
