In regards to the Super-White, i did not notice much of a difference.
Do you know if there is a way to turn off the 3:2 feature of teh tv to display in 24fps?
My over all reaction to upscaled DVDs with the PS3 is it looks kinda "rough", like watching it at the movies (used pan's laberynth to test)
I do not believe this TV supports 24 fps or any multiple of it. In the manual it clearly states the it only supports 60 Hz. So i shut off the 1080p24 output. Anyhow, i just got done with Pirates of the carribean blu-ray and it looks better. When I changed the RGB to full, it looked a bit dark, i increased the brightness a tad and looks awesome ! It really has better 3D feel. The scene when Davy Jones crew emerges from the water looked stunning. Felt like they were going to come out of my TV
I have the ps3 set to display automatic with RGB at full and HDMI Super white. It stays at those settings as well.
As for video games, Motorstorm looks like it has a tiniest bit of black crush but nothing that big. If you are nit picky then simply switch to another mode and re-adjust. Oh By the way, 5.1 sound works again !!!!
I also tried Virtua Tennis Demo and the whites are dead on !
For the final trial, i tried two DVDs. Aliens vs Predator(A dark movie)
and Forest Gump(Mostly light). No video problems whatsoever and of course the scaling helps the picture too. Overall, i'm extremely happy with this update and have to give to credit to Sony. Now, all we need is DTS MA and java profile 1.1 updates and this will be the best player in the market
