Barco 701s or a Mits HD1000U?

I have a Barco Data 701s (7" CRT) that I'm gonna set up this weekend but keeping my room absolutely dark is really hard in the day so do you think the Barco in a room with a little ambient light would put it about on par with a Mits HD1000U or far below the quality you'd get from the Mits? Obviously the Barco's gonna win out in a pitch black room but I'm takin this college next year and I dunno how often I'll get the chance to have such an environment. If the Mits is gonna blow the Barco out of the water in those low light (and when I say low light I pretty much mean a little sunlight seeping out behind my BO curtains) I think I'll see if I can sell it for about $500 and invest in an HD1000U. If the light is gonna put the Barco on par with the Mits however I'll stick with what I have.

I just bought a Hd100U and droped my barco data 701 from the ceiling ,and I miss already. The HD1000U is a good projector ,but it's not a barco data 701 killer for sure. As long as you don't have ambient light in front of the projector you can have lights on to a point and have a great image.
