Open Source HA Software

I went to my local home theater store this weekend to pickup a Sanus stand and I looked at their Crestron system. Very cool. This got me looking at home automation systems which brought me to this forum. I have read quite a bit about homeseer, CQC, Crestron, etc, but all of these cost quite a bit.

I have been using XBMC for some time. It's awesome and free. I am working on installing a mythTV system. It's awesome and free. There are hundreds of examples of truly great open source software, but I cant find anything great in the world of Home Automation control. Does anyone know of anything cool?

Not open source but now free. http://www.premisesystems.com/downloads/
and for Linux based you could try this one. http://plutohome.com/index.php?section=get_pluto

I'd probably vote for Premise as the best free option. It is only free because it is no longer in development.
