Casino Royale is distributed by Sony in all territories.

If you have a Blu-ray player, the Australian release is Region A and uncut.

I just noticed this over at DVDgo:

Brothers Grimm

It looks like it has English. It also looks to be considerably cheaper than the Japanese import.

I'm thinking about ordering The Perfume HD-DVD (German release) from Xploited Cinema and I wonder how/if they mark the value of the disc on the package?

I live in Sweden and ordering from the US can cause an extra customs fee. (Some retailers like DVD Pacific only write down a small amount, and ordering from them are never a problem.) So if international customers of Xploited Cinema have had problems with the customs, please let me know

Scandinavian release is also uncut, and it's region free as well.

Valmont, why would you purchase a German release from an American store? They've paid for the shipping already once and included the cost in their price. You would be paying for shipping again. Why not order it from Amazon.de, for example? Just asking

Good question I found that it was cheaper ordering via Xploited Cinema rather than directly from Amazon.de... strange don't you think?

If you have any good links to german sites I'm more than happy

Have a look at Movietyme and some of the other etailer sites listed in the 1st post of this Imports thread.
The problem with Amazon.de is the high initial p&p charge. Only when you buy multiple discs in a single order does the p&p become reasonable.

How is that even possible... makes no sense at all. But yeah, you're right, I just checked. With shipping it's cheaper from Xploited. Huh!

No, this can't be unless they ship for free to Finland.

I purchased the cheapest one available. You know, second hand disc on the Amazon Marketplace. The seller claims the disc is like new. There's still one on sale for 21 euros, the next cheapest one is 23 euros.

Someone posted in another thread that The Island was going to be on there. I thought the UK/French version was going to be out early this month and then the German version was the end of the month. I could be wrong though.

Ah, I see. How are the shape of the disc when it's preowned? I hope it's prestine and no scratches.

That's always a bit of a gamble, certainly. I usually look at the score given to the seller. If it's high, one can usually trust them not to cheat on the condition description.

Bulk shipping and package deals. A true importer will make arrangements with the studio or a distributor, buy in bulk and ship in bulk. He's not paying Amazon.de $35 for the disk and $8 to ship, he probably paying Concorde (or a distributor) $280 including shipping to have 10 HD DVDs shipped to him. The distributor wins because they sell 10 disks at a higher mark-up than they normally get, the importer wins because they make a tidy profit and we win because we can buy import HD DVDs for about the same price as a Fox BD.

Yeah, makes sense. Funny how us Europeans get pissed on again, even when the product is made in Europe and the store is European :P

Is Studio Canal the distributor of Silent Hill in France?

Since some import HD DVDs come in weird cases (Japanese imports in standard DVD cases, et al) I figured I would post a link to Sleeve City in this thread. It is obviously up to the OP to determine if this link should go in the initial post, but I think it would fit nicely next to the custom art links.

I just received an order of 10 HD DVD cases from Sleeve City today and I sure am happy. They sell the standard Universal HD DVD cases individually or in lots of 10 or 50. Shipping is a little steep (I paid $6.50 for 10 cases and $5.75 to ship them), but I did get the cases in just 3 days with standard shipping. Here's a link:

Good, not a single title I'd care to buy. Leaves money for more worthwhile titles.

Has anyone got the spanish version of 'an american haunting' looking for details on this one.

Also List Finally Updated list with PQ and AQ ratings for the titles that have them and have also put pitch issue under relevant titles. If I have misseds anything please tell me. Thanks to everyone for supplying the information and thanks for being patient.

The list is also more spaced out but I assume most people who use these forums know to just pres CTRL+F to find the title they want info on.

Also I have started to but not finished putting details on some of the coming soong titles which have had their info disclosed.

I am also going to be adding some other titles that are available in th US but may have different versions abroad ie. 21 Monkeys, Tomb Raider.

Once again thanks for all the help and please keep it coming

So no one here has viewed the French HD DVD release of Traffic? Does anyone at least know if it has forced subtitles? I'm dying to replace Universal's shameful US HD DVD release of this movie.

Do a search. I believe it's been confirmed that it has forced subtitles.
