New Car Audio recommendations

Just bought a new Mazda CX-9 (SUV Crossover 7 seater thing).

I mean 22 miles new. It currently has a 10 speaker + subwoofer Bose system in it (275watts or so) so its pretty good for stock.

1. I don't know anything about install myself so I won't even consider it.

2. I am looking for a professional install so I'm willing to pay for that.

3. I don't want to gut the current system and I need the car to function almost completely (thats why I bought a vehicle that size). Therefore, I cannot fill up cargo space with all sorts of speakers/boxes, etc.

4. Total budget is around 2k to $2500.

5. With professional install I want it completely seamless and seriously don't want to lose the integrity of the car. I'm not ripping up 2 tone leather and sticking screws through my wood trim so it has to look like it all belongs.

6. I know for sure I want DVD capability for my kids in the back seats and I want to use the strength of the Bose system already. Its a waste to ignore it so I just want to enhance it.

7. I'm not gonna compete in car shows and I'd prefer clarity and amazing sound over boom and bass. I do listen to lots of Rap/Hip Hop though so I don't mind some good stuff.

Any suggestions/recommendations for brands I should look for to fill my needs. I am buying from a store and 99% sure I am buying from the same place I am having install done (Unique Audio).

anyway, thanks ahead of time!

You need to give more info. What type of music you listen to, etc.

well you can use a JL audio clean sweep and keep the factory head unit, throw out all stock speakers and amp there is a start but what nozerider said is right even though in the end he will tell you to get Focal, there are other factory intergraters, some out some soon

Can't really go wrong with Focal.

i am not sure i get what you are asking?? are you simply wanting to add a dvd player? if so, slap a overhead roof mounted 10-12" dvd system/monitor, with wireless headphone compatibility, in and keep the factory system you are already happy with. if you are asking for something else, ask again and i will try to assist.

Follow me:
Eclipse HU
McIntosh amp for a 3-way Focal Utopia setup in custom kick panels
AudioControl 3.1 crossover
JL Audio 500/1 amp and JL 10W3 in a stealth-box
1 Farad cap
Monster interconnects
Spend all day covering the entire truck in Dynamat Xtreme

Oh, and I haven't even installed a DVD Player / Navigation.

OK, I have problems.....

What kind of music do you listen to? What's your total budget? Is a sub-box/space an issue? All these questions will help guide the recs.

Also, check out plenty of pics from their installs so you can see the quality of their work. And don't be afraid to talk to the head-installer to see if he really knows what he's talking about, or if the manager is just a good salesman.

Regards,
Karl

That is a sweet setup. I know because it's pretty much what I have.

I have:

McIntosh head unit
McIntosh 4x100 amp
Alpine V12 500x1 amp
Focal K2P fronts
Alpine R series rears
JL Audio W3 12" sub

I'm very happy with it and have had the McIntosh stuff for over 10 years and probably will pass it down to my kid in 25 years. The initial investment is stiff but well worth it IMO.
