got an htpc whit asus p5b mother board it has an optic audio out i got a cable for it and plugged it into my JVC reciver but i cant seem to get any sound at all can anyone tell me what i did wrong ?

Make sure that your audio preferences are set to use your digital audio out as default. It may still be trying to use the analog output jacks. It may also be a BIOS setting to enable optical audio.
set your audio to two channel in the sound configs. Then go into your dvd playback software (theatertek, zoom player, powerdvd, ect....) and set the audio to spdif out.
