D3 not announced for the PS3 so off the list it goes.

In its place on the rumor list.... Timesplitters 4:

Quote:

The first Timesplitters 4 screens have been shown in the latest issue of UK based magazine PSW. This also confirms that the game will be coming to PlayStation 3 considering a PlayStation magazine has been given the exclusive shots, before these scan's it was unsure what consoles this game will be released on.

Breaking news:

Details about Sega's Yakuza 3 is revealed in a magazine interview today. The cities featured Yakuza 2 will be kept in the new title, but adding Onikawa as one of the new and main stages for the future adventure.

In case you are wondering why there is another Yakuza 3 coming out, despite there is already one taking place in early-edo Japan, the previous Yakuza title released in March is called "Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan!"("zan" can be seen as kanji form of "3"), which is now considered an "extra" (Gaiden) chapter of the series.

The real Yakuza 3 will have the same main character- Kazuma Kiryu from the previous titles. The story will pick up from where the 2nd one ended.

I noticed it but Kenzan still has yet to get a U.S. release date. If it isn't featured at E3 I'm taking it off the list. If Kenzan is announced to come out over here, I'll also add Y3 at that time.

The Magic Box (Japanese gaming news blog) just confirmed the following:

Quote:

- Bandai Namco confirmed a new Tales title for PS3 will be revealed later this year.

It may be the game I have listed as Namco RPG, so I'll just replace that text.

Also, EGM reported that Q Entertainment is working on a new game for PlayStation Network. I had that in the general console area so I'll move the entry to the PSN area.

My sense is that Y3 will eventually come to the US after Y2, but Kenzan won't, because of the culture barrier and the amount of localization trouble. (some elements are just too Japanese for westerners to enjoy. Such as the hiragana-based card memory game)

BTW the Japanese community is spreading the rumor that the new Bandai Namco RPG will be a new title from the "Tales of" series, different from Tales of Vesperia - which was scheduled to be releases for Xbox360.

That was a reply to your post...just to mention what kind of title is rumored about the new Namco RPG.

To be honest, I am not interested in any of the Tales titles, I actually hope it is not a Tales one.

It might not come to the US unfortunately... I'll keep an eye out for it though.

Just saw the Xbox conference at E3. Looks like Final Fantasy XIII will not be PS3 exclusive.

It'll only be a PS3 exclusive in Japan, and will be on both 360 and PS3 in English-speaking countries:

I'll do a major edit of the list soon. Some stuff will come out (unless announced at Lezpig or TGS for the U.S. market) and I'll add the new stuff as well. Thanks!

One thing I'll add here before I forget:
Quote:
NIS America as a company is doing well, and they do well maintaining five to six titles released a year. While they have focused mainly on the PS2, they've begun shifting toward the PS3 for their releases. They also have had great success with their titles on the PSP, which Jack owes to the fact that more hardcore gamers own the platform when compared to the DS. He also mentioned that NIS' home branch in Japan was interested in using the Wii's motion capabilities in RPGs in the near future, but mentioned that the Sony family of platforms was still NIS' main focus. He continued on to say that NIS' next title for the PS3 will harness more of the power of the platform and shouldn't garner complaints that it looks like a PS2 game, like Disgaea 3 did.

Since Disgaea 3 is coming to the U.S., no reason to doubt their next project will as well. Also some other Japan news according to duckroll at NeoGAF (reliable poster):

Next week's Famitsu: High Speed Robot Battle returns..... on the PS3.

I'll add that to the rumor list. Lastly, Rat Race is canceled.

OK, I tried to bring the info up-to-date. I ended up deleting a lot of old info that seemed to no longer be factual. I'm eyeing a few more European projects to delete if we don't hear about them at Leipzig.

Here are some new titles that Sony as recently said are DualShock 3 compatible. Not sure which are exclusive though, so they all get put on the rumor list for now:

- Alien Sports: Minigolf
- Cinnamon Beats
- Codename Cops
- Maxim Pinball
- Punisher: War Zone

- Burn Zombie Burn (PSN)
- Underfire (PSN)

Since the info came from the Sony Euro site, we'll likely learn some concrete info on at least a few of these at Leipzig next month.

A couple of more rumors....

- Ratchet and Clank 2 will be out in 2009 according to a Swedish site that completed the new Quest for Booty mini-release. Just a rumor, but Insomniac does do a good job at whipping out those games every year.

- Also, some secret game tentatively called Hardware 2 is said to be announced early August by the same site claiming FFVII news will be announced by Square Enix. I don't know if we can trust them, but they say H2 will be 50 v 50 tanks, helicopters, bikes and jeep warfare in detailed environments. Like I said - who knows if they can be trusted.

Finally, Siren: Blood Curse has been released on the PSN so the list has been updated.

Hardware sounds as if it were fake, but this new PS title isn't. Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars has been added to the list.

A Ratchet and Clank sequel has been confirmed as well.

Seed Studios, a small developer in Portugal, is starting work on a PS3 project. Their previous 3 games were all DS titles. No information yet besides one piece of artwork at their website:

We are very proud of what we are achieving with this new platform, and we are working really hard and putting all our passion into this.
Also, we are going to be present on this year GC (leipzig) to showcase the project to some possible publishers.
This is pretty much what I can tell you so far, hit the jump to our newest website for a little more info.

A polished remake of a 1996 Konami arcade racer is coming to the PSN. It's called GTI Club+ and this link has a low-rez video of it in action. EyeToy support is included as you race others online.

Savage Moon, a PSN strategy game is coming too. It's described as Starship Troopers meets PixelJunk Monsters:

Metal Gear Acid, currently a series on the PSP, is said by Kojima to be a PSN possibility:
Quote:

Metal Gear Solid superdad Hideo Kojima has told Eurogamer that it's "possible" the Metal Gear Acid games could end up on PlayStation Network, although he stressed nothing is in production.

Kojima was in Germany at Games Convention to chat in the aftermath of June's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot release, and as big fans of the PSP Acid series, we couldn't resist checking on its future.

"I'll say yes to that idea, but not because it is already running or anything," Kojima told Eurogamer when asked about the possibility of porting the turn-based strategy titles to PSN.

"I'm just saying yes because it's possible, I think it is possible. Sorry to say we don't have specific plans at the moment, but it is possible, yes."

There have been two Metal Gear Acid games to far, both exclusive to the PSP. The idea in both is to manoeuvre Solid Snake (and eventually another character) around traditional MGS-style environments trying to avoid being seen and reach your goals.

Movement and actions are turn-based, with longer cool-down periods for more energetic activities like firing rifles. To add additional intrigue, actions are powered by a customisable deck of cards, each of which has certain properties and uses.

It takes a little getting used to (although the second game removed some of the barriers for entry), but still we still miss it. Hopefully Kojima will go home and issue orders to his Kojima Productions pals.

Three more PSN titles confirmed, one of which is the Seeds Studio game referred to in Slacker George's last post :

Quote:

We already went over Savage Moon a RTS game a couple days ago, now we are revealing two more titles that will be hitting the PS3 soon. The first title is Sky Gods currently being developed by Blackfoot Studios which will utilize the Unreal Engine 3.

This just might be the first downloadable game that utilizes the beast that is the Unreal Engine 3. Using this engine practically ensures the game will be gigabytes, and this seems like why Blackfoot Studios felt the PSN was the perfect distribution platform to have Sky Gods on considering Sony doesn’t impose any size limitation on games.

Sky Gods will be a half HALO jumping, and half team based co-op shooter. According to Blackfoot Studio’s newsletter part of Sky Gods came from a simulation that was being developed for the Military for actual HALO jumping out of a plane, how cool is that?

The shooter part of the game is actually derived from Blackfoot’s Ground Branch title which is slated to launch in the near future.

You can bet we will fill you in as we learn more about this title.

Our next title we will be talking about is from Seed Studio. Seed Studio have a history of working on the DS platform and now is making a huge jump to the PS3. Just last week Seed Studio revealed a new title that is being worked on that will be on the PS3.

It hasn’t been revealed if it will be a PSN or retail game but it does look interesting what they have shown so far. Currently it seems Seed Studio is working on two projects but have not clarified which one will be on the PS3 or if both will be on that platform, so lets just look at both of them.

The first title that has been revealed is Blue Shift, a futuristic post apocalyptic style game. You know how much I love post apocalyptic games, its an instant win for me.

It seems you will be controlling a female lead in the game with a wide range of support allies, besides that information is scarce about this game so far.
Take a look at the teaser below.

The other project Seed Studio is working on is Epoch Wars, a RTS where you can control a battalion of solders focusing on conquering territories and defeating the enemy. This game is slated to be released in 2009 Q2.

Stay tuned as we bring you more info about these games.

Sky Gods, Blue Shift and Epoch Wars are being added to the list.

Here's a gameplay video of the upcoming PSN bug splatter-fest, Savage Moon.

Also, Lumines Supernova was confirmed to be coming for the PSN. It's a fantastic Tetris-styled puzzle series that started on the PSP.
