can you get pic on ANT B (tuner B) without invoking split screen? do you get any sound (when you start with ant A)? if you haven't tried this yet, try it--
assuming you have a connection to anb B
when you power up the tv, and nothing appears, press "ant B" on your remote, don't go to split-scr.
if a pic appears, then press ant A...see what happens.
if you stay only on ant B and can get normal on/off cycles, then your theory of tuner card A going bad is logical. if you are not able to get normal on/off from tuner B, perhaps there is another issue too (tuner may be bad too).
you haven't said anything about flashing lights...assuming none.
i have an 8G non-elite and have a similar problem but luckily only if the tv was left off at one specific channel (ch 711). in my case i can recover by going to ant B and back to ant A. also, once in a while i lose the pic while watching ch 711 (sound is ok) but i can recover by toggling between ant A & B.

When the unit is turned on, there is no picture. The display info in the upper right corner with the Input, resolution, etc... works fine, and I can toggle between inputs. However, none of the source material or the TV menus will display. Initially, I thought the display had simply conked out. However, when I was poking around I discovered that I could get the image to display in PIP.
When I push the Split button, I just get two black screens. But, if I push the Swap button, the source material appears in the split PIP window.
I'm worried that the main "tuner" on the display is gone and only the 2nd "tuner" is operational. I've successfully displayed Dish, Blu-Ray and PC (separate input) in the Split PIP window.
I'm pretty terrified that this is a catastrophic failure of some kind, but I'm hopeful that there may be a non-hardware fix available.
I've searched the forum and attempted a Master Reset, however due to the menus not operating on the display, I couldn't even make that work.
I think this one is a pretty interesting issue, I have my fingers crossed that one of the true experts might have the solution.
