And the red twelve blink error code is something with the fault code named: DIG-DCDC... Whiich is presumably what the tech will see in the factory menu power down list.
But i can't remember if its red or blue blinking LED's you have - so twelve blue blinking error code is apparently called - Digital Tuner Communication
First things first. The repair has been authorized.
It's the second thing I'm puzzled about -- the diagnosis that resulted in the approved repair.
The actual sequence was diagnostic blue LED lights in sets of eight when I first tried to power the set on a week ago. Then I did a full power cycle, after a short wait, and got sets of eight blue blinks again.
I did longer waits between power cycles, including over night, and in all of those power cycles the diagnostic had changed to twelve blue lights per set.
The tech, who's company has been given the job, said it's the main board when I went through the above incantations. Can you check your service manual and see if eight blue lights flashing has anything to do with the power supply? I'm considering the possibility of paying for a new power supply board to be installed with the main board.
There is also the fact that the main board is not expected to be in stock until at least the end of September. If I add the power supply to the job, then I have to try to get them both here at the same time. And then there is the question about how similar the US model 6010 is to the Kingdom of Fife 6010 model.
Thanks again for your interest.
