Yeah, I just put an order in for Planet Earth BR. It's a full $13.50 cheaper than amazon. Guess I have to see what everyone's making such a big deal about.

This is a new sale that just started. I think the old one ended already, and had a promotional code of "dvdtalk".

Why do you care? If you have the time to read the thread, and post in it, surely you can get over it. I for one missed the original post, and as a result of seeing this, I ordered 5 discs.

I believe Pre-Orders are excluded unfortunately.

Thanks, finally picked up Planet Earth.

Old news or not, I never saw this. I bought 7 more titles tonight, including the Mission Impossible set, The Patriot (pre-order), and Apocalypto for the best prices I've seen anywhere, after the discount.

Thanks!

You're telling me. I've spent $300 on BR disks in the past week.

DEALTAKER code works. Actually I checked a few of the older codes. There's one or two more that still work. Sucks that you can use each code only once.

God, no more sales! I can't take it anymore!

It doesn't appear that you were discounted for The Patriot. The price you show in your order is what is on the website and the other prices you list are the discounted prices. What other pre-order do you see a discount on?

It told me earlier that Mission Impossible wasn't available just yet. I got confused, and thought that meant pre-order. Is this series out yet? Something has been updated between an earlier page it showed me, and what ended up in the end.

Also, I'd swear that price on The Patriot was higher. They must have just reduced it. Was there a mistake in pricing on this site? Maybe they've got different pages with different prices, and some didn't get updated?

The Last Samurai disk says available 6/21, and I was discounted for that. Maybe they are just updating their stocks, and won't have it back in until 6/21? I had thought it was already released.

In case it changes, the online price in this link below says $19.32. Note my cheaper price of around $15 above:

Just picked 4 more titles, well, 1 BD and 3 HD.

Finally Got Casino Royale for $21.47, Departed (HD-DVD because the BD version was out of stock until 6/21/07, and just for $2 more I could get this Combo) for $22.27, King Kong for $21.42 (I almost got it from Amazon yesterday for $27) and simply because of the price I got The Hulk for $17.56.

So, thanks a lot OP, even if it was posted here before, I didn't see it until today.

The best deal is that Warner's catalog Blu-rays can be had for $15.46 after the discount, including:

Corpse Bride
Dog Day Afternoon
Enter the Dragon
The Fugitive
Good Night, and Good Luck
The Road Warrior
A Scanner Darkly
Superman: The Movie
Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut

Etc.

Whats the link and coupon codes ?
The Last Samurai has been out for quite a while. It's just out of stock right now. The Mission Impossible set has also been out for a while. The date they gave you is probably when it will come back in stock. I have one item I purchased from them that is currently back ordered and they indicated on the email confirmation that it will be available 6/18. So you do get the discount on out of stock items, just not pre-orders.

Yeah - I couldn't get the discount to work on a pre-order, either. Of course, I have already used the "DVDTALK" coupon code - so maybe that's why.

I tried Pre-Order some titles using the SUPERSALE Code and nothing was discounted.

Here's a FAQ about the sale and over 10 codes that can be used:

So tempted by the MI collection. Only $16 a disc for the BD version (HD DVD is more), but I really only want 3 (which is priced way higher on it's own--all 3 are more individually, but MI3 more than the first two).

But as I never botherd buying the first movie, bought 2 on a whim when it came out years ago, and have watched it maybe twice, guess I'll resist.

Have scored some nice discs with the sale though.
Being a dual format owner I feel that the HD DVD versions have a slight edge in Color vibrancy than the BD version. For example in MI-3 the colors were a bit punchy in the HD DVD than the BD. So if you have a choice between HD DVD and BD chose the HD DVD version. As some of the HD DVD comes as COMBO we might have to resort to the cheaper BD version especially for the budget people.
That really has nothing to do with HD-DVD vs. Blu-ray per se unless each had completely different transfers and encodes and one was botched terribly. More than likely its the variation in outputs from individual player manufacturers.

I'll have to take a look at their sale now!
