Yamaha YST-SW216

Hey,

Well I just ordered a new Yamaha YST-SW216 off of eBay. Paid $85 shipped (with insurance on shipping); so it was a good deal, as it runs for $125 at BestBuy.

Anyways, I did look at a bunch of reviews on the internet, it sounds good, but what do you guys know about it?

I'm using one in my bedroom as part of my PC audio setup. Vanns.com was selling them for about $90 last year. It sounds decent with music, but for HT that 50 Watt amp won't have enough juice I think, but I guess it depends on how big your room is.

The one important thing that this sub is missing is the "Auto On" feature. It also doesn't have variable frequency crossover. Instead, it just has two settings: high and low. But I guess if your receiver can do bass management, then this is irrelevant.

Ya...I'm not sure what all that crossover stuff is, but I'll be using this for music, gaming, and maybe some movies....I think it'll be sufficient.

What are you using for your main speakers and with what receiver?

My bro lent/gave me his extra 3 surround speakers from http://www.amazon.com/Sony-HT6900DP-...&s=electronics (his Sony HT-6900DP 'Theatre in a Box'), and I'm using that receiver, the STR-K9900P from Sony.

Along with those 3 surround speakers, I have two Acoustic Audio surround sound speakers (from ebay I tried to post link, but it doesn't work...so just go to ebay and look up " New Pair 500 Watt DJ Speakers Acoustic Audio GX-350 NR ").
