Response times; am I missing something?

Thread Starter
I've been reading some of the recent threads about specific models of TV's and I'm seeing a lot of posters getting ready to shell out thousands of dollars for a televisions with slow response times.

I have a beginners knowledge at best when it comes to LCD TV's, so I might be missing something here but the fuzziness, for lack of a better word, during action scenes or sports programs drives me nuts on some of these LCD TV's. It's the main reason I haven't switched from my regular hdtv.

Am I putting too much weight on this specification? If not, can anyone recommend a good LCD TV with a 5ms or less response time? If I am, could someone please point me to any LCD tv that does well with fast action material?

Thanks

The thing with response times is they are all measured differently from manufacturer to manufacturer. so just cause one brands says 4ms, and another says 8ms.. doesn't mean the faster spec'd one is actually better. sometimes the ones with the lower response times only have that response time in a particular mode, that might have other trade offs.

so it's just kinda best to do research on a particular set, read other customers reviews, check it out in person, ect. That's my opinion of it... other's may be different.

Maybe the 4ms, 120hz LCDs but just maybe. If you want no motion blur, you need to go CRT(RPTV). CRT is 1.5ms.
