Question about "pre out" amp connection.

I have a TEAC A-1D integrated amp. On the back is a connection marked "pre out". A couple of questions about this, please.
1. Can I hook up a pair of powered PC speakers from this connection?
2. If I can, will connecting to the pre out somehow automatically turn off the power amp portion or does it keep running?

1. Probably.
2. Probably not. It is likely to leave the amps functioning.

Is there a user's manual to hand? Is there only one pre-out or is there a pair?

Being an electro-dummy I might not answer your question correctly, so here is a pic of the output.

I do not actually have the amp yet. I just ordered it from the TEAC factory authorized refurbisher. They claim it will arrive "like new with all original documentation".

Is it possible that if I set the "power switch" to off and the "standby" switch to on it might have enough trickle charge for the preamp to work?

It just appears to be a normal pre-out for your left/right channel if your going to use an external amp and bypass the internal amp, nothing out of the ordinary. Most receivers have this option.

No, when you turn the "power switch" off, it prevents current from flowing through the circuit...it means it's off.

Yes. But he wants to know if using these outputs will turn off the internal amps and that is doubtful.
