Blade Runner has TrueHD for the Final Cut.

Hmmm, and on both the HD DVD and my BD, you can actually see the boarder of the chest plate the actor wears for her LCR array. I'd never been able to see that on any previous video release.

Total Recall UK blu ray has the audio sync/lag issue as well.

Really? I can think of several dozen Blu-Rays with far worse transfers than that one.

Another vote for 40YOV as 'Worst. Disc. Ever.'. Don't get me wrongo, there are some that look worse in terms of AV quality, but considering the relatively young age of the movie and the Hollywood resources that went into making it, it looks utterly diabolical.

Still can't beat Predator UHE.


EDIT: Hmm, actually... after looking at the two side by side... 40YOV might be worse.

My copy of Total Recall no longer plays. I have an Oppo BD83, Oppo BD93 and a Sony BX2.

Anyone else have problems with this disc? Anyone else have any disc stop working before? This is my first.

Could be laser rot where the disc bonding was defective and allowed the metal substrate to deteriorate. It was infamous with some laserdiscs back in the day.

Did you buy this early on, i.e. 2006 or 2007? I've heard about initial pressings of early Lionsgate titles going bad (super early releases - Basic Instinct, Total Recall, Lord of War, American Pyscho, etc.).

I myself purchased a copy of Total Recall in 2008 (who knows how long it was sitting on the shelves - it was from a small, local store) and it was already bad. I put the disc in the player and received no response whatsoever, the player acted like it was empty. Returned it and bought another copy and (so far as I know) it is still working.

I'd try Lionsgate for a replacement, though I remember hearing their customer service isn't top notch. You might be better off just buying a copy of the new version they're putting out in July (new master from original negative, or so they say).

My copy died several months ago and I had to purchase a new one. I called Lionsgate but was told that if it played before that it could not be defective now.

Yea, I remember laser rot, I lost a few that way. Hopefully there are only a few to worry about. I'll have to check Basic Instinct as well, Lord of War I bought later on.

I guess I'll wait for July as well.
