Happy New Year to all of my fellow AVS'ers! I hope 2012 is a happy and prosperous one for all.
I have some progress to report. Things have not come to a grinding halt since the PJ has been hung, I guess part of it is that I don't have a sound system yet! Still I have been doing some watching er ah I mean testing of screen sizes and viewing distances to see what works but more on that in a moment.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of Mrs RTROSE who did all of the tiling of the back splash, and her close supervision of my grouting job the tiling of the kitchenette is DONE and looks fantastic!
I'm really happy with the way it all turned out. I'm also very happy with my laminate counter top it turned out really nice as well. That white line is a reflection, as it is not there (scared me when I saw the photo, I had to go down and check
) upon closer inspection.
I also worked on getting the projector plumbed, squared, and leveled. I borrowed a laser tape measure, boy are those things nice. Very handy for doing measuring work by yourself when you are dangling half off a ladder trying to measure and move a ceiling mount a tiny bit. I am even happier with the Epson 8350 now that I can work on the image location and size.
Here is a shot of my original screen size thoughts many moons ago.
That screen size turns out to be around 114" 16:9 and about 108" 2.40. Both are diagonal measurements. I think this is going to be an ideal size, I know the thought is usually to go bigger but I don't want to feel like I'm watching a ping pong match either.
I thought I would share my very temporary setup to enjoy my Epson.
My Redneck PowerBridge set up works just fine.
Oh, and I got my equipment shelves done, two coats of poly on the bottoms, three coats of poly on the tops. Two coats of stain to start.
I think those look pretty good too.
Whew, hopefully you all won't suffer from photo overload!
