Mike, so the $$ question is, when do you estimate these units on your shelf, and will be able to get MX-900/950/850-like discounted price on it?
Don't have any info on release date yet as beta testing is just beginning, but should know more in a week or two. The hardware is ready to go, but the software is not quite there yet.

There is now an MX-810 reference guide on the URC web page. Looks interesting.

Mike...it's august 7th...just curious to see if you've heard any additional info on this MX-810.

Still no software yet for beta testing, so I'm still just sitting here looking at a pretty, color screen that I can't do anything with.

On the plus side, I'd rather they wait then release a product with buggy software.

oh yeah...but with a price to boot
Remotecentral says "The new [980] remote will be available in September for $599 USD MSRP", which is actually $100 less than the monochrome 950. Fortunately, it is not necessary to pay MSRP, but these are still way out of my league!
Quick update. I've received the MX-810 software for beta testing now, so we'll see how it goes from here.
I'm building a whole house system as we speak but I think I will wait until the 980/810 are out instead of using the 950/900 as previously planned.

Even at MSRP the 980 seems to be a decent value when compared to some others and I'm sure it can be had for <$400.

In the press release for 980 I didn't see mention of variable support (as 950 has) but presumably, it's there.

900 didn't have variables. does the 810 have them?

i wish i could do some simple math too. e.g.
zonesOn=zonesOn+1; //when a zone is turned on
...and speaking of the new hotness and simple number variables:

peopleWhoThinkTheMX980isTheNewHotness = peopleWhoThinkTheMX980isTheNewHotness + 1;

Any idea when we can expect the 980 to hit your store? And soon after that, my house.

Hard to say. Depends on the test results. Probably at least two weeks.

Any new updates on when this will be available? My Harmony 880 just died and this looks like a great replacement.

Believe me. ...

I don't want to get you in trouble with any skulking flamers that might be lurking on the thread, but why do you say that Thomas? What are you thoughts about the 980?
New hotness for PC users maybe.

mike....any updates yet? should be right around this time no?
Nothing definite yet, but it probably will be shipping this week or next.

Look to November for the MX-980, whose software was in pretty good shape at CEDIA.
Mike,

When you say it will be shipping soon, do you mean the software will be shipped to you soon for testing or the RC will be ready for sales?

If you have had the opportunity to test drive this remote, what are your thoughts?
I mean that the remote will (hopefully) be shipping from URC. I beta tested the MX-810, but I'm not allowed to provide information from the beta testing on public forums. Once it's released, I can give you more info.
Thanks Mike. Look forward to hearing your thoughts soon.

Can't wait!

Literally, I need to make a decision. Might have to settle for something else!

Can't share on a public forum? PM me!
