AVCHD join files

Hello,

I have files from my camcorder (.mts files)
They can be imported in Pinnacle Studio 11 BUT if I export it does a re-encoding.

How exactly this can be done without re-encoding them (no point in re-encoding in the same format)
What software is there that can perform this mts join?

Thank you.

What kind of camcorder do you have? I believe that the software that came with my Panasonic SD1 can join files together, although it is a pretty poor piece of software.

I have a Sony HDR-SR7
The software that came with this camera can create AVCHD DVDs but does not join files.
Is your software available for download someplace?

I tried TSSplitter (freeware) that can perform MTS join.

HOWEVER, it introduces a pause between sequences in the final file.

Did you guys tried another program?

HDWriter is the app that came with the camera. It does allow merging of the various scenes. However, it appears that you can only burn it to a DVD, not save as a new file.

I downloaded the "Vista" version from here. Be warned, there isn't much to it and it may not work with your Sony camera.

The Panasonic program is an update to the existing CD so it doesn't work.

Any solution that works?

Sorry, I didn't realize that was only a "Vista" patch.

Finally, there is a solution that works and does not re-encode MTS (M2TS) files
(THE FILES HAVE TO BE RENAMED FROM MTS TO M2TS)

tsMuxeR

Open the first file with the ADD button, the rest of the files with the APPEND button
And then save to m2ts and works perfectly.

Be careful about A/V sync issue. If you start join a lot of clips, the later ones' audio can get terribly out of sync with tsMuxeR. Pixela, on the other hand, has no such issue.

The tsMuxeR audio delay problem can be solved by using tsMuxer together with ea3to.

One first uses ea3to to join the audio portion of the mts files. One then uses tsMuxeR to join the video portion of the mts files and combine them with the output audio file from ea3to.
