Is there an internet-only car audio retailer like SVS or AV123?

It's been my experience that for buying home theater speakers, it's hard to beat the "direct to consumer" strategy employed by companies like SVS, AV123, Oppo, etc., where they bypass retail distribution channels, storefronts, middleman and sell direct.

How come I don't hear about car audio companies that employ the same strategy. I've gathered from other threads that some of the "best bang for buck", and in fact speakers that have the best SQ are manufactured by Focal, MB Quart, etc.

But these speakers suffer from heavy markup due to dealer-only distribution channels.

I'd like to buy component speakers for one of my Honda, but don't want to have to visit a dealer / haggle over pricing.

Any companies you can recommend?

Adire used to sell direct (subs and components). However, they changed their business model and I don't see most of their old products (new product line).

Adire is now closing their doors. Elemental Designs is another brand. They do home audio too and I have had great luck with their stuff.

T3 is another company but they are known for their SPL line. Not sure on their components.

Mpyre Audio is another brand although their build house was Adire so I am not sure where that leaves them.

There are quite a few internet only subwoofer brands but that number drops quite a bit when you start to talk about components.

cdtaudio.com is pretty well respected for the component speakers. You can buy from them directly or thru woofersetc.com which is an authorized dealer.

I'm looking for a set of 6 x 9's to replace a set of dry-rotted pioneers if anyone has any recommendations. Would consider Id brands but from what I've seen....none of them make such a critter.

Budget <250 (pair)
