This is like asking, Is your life perfect?
It is bad and good to various degrees. You are likely to get more answers from picky or not content owners/users. Still shading is not perfected with lcd technology.

The shading that I've seen on the 5 or so RS-1s that I've seen weren't perfect and they were all fairly similar. I was a bit surprised by this because I thought the autoshading would be about perfect by now (JVC has the first patent on it going back into the late 90s). At any rate, I wouldn't describe it as being a big problem but it was noticeable. Defining it as a big problem really comes down to a persons own perspective on how much error they can tolerate. I did find that even though my projector is ceiling mounted that by using it in the right side up orientation that this improved the shading... enough so in fact that it doesn't bug me anymore although I see it when I look for it. It also greatly improved the red focus so I have better convergence and no more red fringing.

Thanks for the information. Here are two picture about my shading issue. Please note that the shading are more visible on the screen as on the photo. What do you think? Did you would accept this?
