Well, that would be a bit better than I was thinking but after reading more than one pro review along the lines of "...and then I put the $200 brick on top of the CD transport and everything was so much clearer", I don't really care much what some rag reporter says much anymore. I used to... I got over it. I am probably throwing the baby out with the bath water to a certain extent, but there is so much bath water and so few babies, ya know?

The fact that a potted plant on the transport would have reduced resonances just as well is somehow ignored

Has anybody gotten an update on how the pre-orders are going. I know they are talking early December. But I heard there is a slight possibility of a November ship date. Anybody have anymore info? I'm in line for a 7.0 Full size set up.

actually, i find it quite interesting and illuminating.

Guys,

Just wanted to let you know the speaker pages for the MTS-01 family have FR's listed for each model now.

http://www.svsound.com/products-sys-...fm#mbs01_specs

All are in production and the first ones should go out the door Wednesday. Watch for your shipping notices. We'll hold pre-order prices till morning of the 2nd, in case anyone was on the fence. The freebies go away then too. We'll be showing a full 7.1 MTS-01 system and some Ultra subs, and potentially the working pre-production prototype of the SubEQ we've worked up with Audyssey (not unlike the MTS-01 speakers, a project that's well behind our planned schedule, but has made significant progress finally: http://www.svsound.com/products/acce...k_CESpromo.pdf
).

Should be fun. Watch for your shipping notices. Then I expect a spate of "SVS flu" afterwards. Once you fire these up you won't want stop listening for a while. The MBS-01's I'm running just with a 25-31PCi in a bedroom system is pretty stunning. They sound great with NO sub in fact, though we're bass nuts so we'll tend to recommend SVS subs back these up for an effortless low end.

Drop me a line if you want to slot a time to come by and see us at the Hilton in Vegas and hear what we've brought.

Happy New Year to all from SVS,

Oh Boy! Let the games begin....
Looks like my MTS-01 Towers may be right around the corner.
I'm hoping for a PB/PC-13 Ultra deja-vu,
best performance regardless of price
The new Ultra subs can hold their own against any sub out there regardless of price, wouldn't it be great if this turns out to be the case for the new
SVS MTS speakers!
dc

PS I do wish SVS would come out with an LCR version containing the MTS components. Like the NHT M6 or the new Outlaw LCR.

looking forward to listening impressions

Has anyone read/heard a review of the MTS yet? I would love for craigsub to get a pair, I know his reviews are unbiased and respected here. He certainly has the inventory to do comparisons with (most of us here have craigsub envy).
I just suggested the MTS to a friend of mine who is looking for some speakers, but luckily he is going to take my ole Kef 105.2's and recon them for a shot at some good speakers. It breaks my heart they are rotting in a storage unit.
Anyway, I can't wait to read/hear the reviews on these. I have no NEED to upgrade, but.....
very interested in these, desperately need to upgrade my 15-25yr old system, starting with speakers, and these may be the ticket. I hope someone can post some impressions soon. I've been auditioning Paradigm Studio 60/20's, B&W 683's and some of their bookshelves for surrounds, but really want to hear these and the Outlaws... Cheers

Well when I receive mine MTS system, I can compare them to my Studio 100 .v4 system....

Stubeef, the MTS have been in pre-order, and no-one has received them yet so you will find no review... I will report back as soon as I receive them..

Ya, I know they are not delivered yet, but I had hoped there had been some listening reviews by some influential reviewers.

Something doesn't seem quite right on the "spec's" page. They list the MTS-01 as a "2 1/2-way mid-sized center speaker". The MTS-01 is supposed to be the "tower" speaker, isn't it? If so, why would they make the tower a 2.5-way speaker? That would make more sense for the center channel speaker. However, the MCS-01 is listed as the center speaker, and it is a 2-way design.

Also, they list the FR for the MTS-01 as 60 Hz - 30 kHz +/- 3 dB, which is exactly the same as the bookshelf MBS-01. Usually a "tower" speaker has deeper response than a bookshelf, due to the larger cabinet volume and dual ports.

I wonder if there are not some errors on the spec's page???

Okay for the love of god somone has had to have seen the speakers. Please somone report in. I know many are curious about these speakers and how they sound.
They will have a set at CES, so I would hope someone would stop there and grab some pics..

They have not shipped yet, I was told to expect delivery the first week in January, so I'm patiently chomping at the bit for their arrival... When I get the email they are only 2-3 days away if that..

I snatched up/ordered a second PB12-Plus/2 on Thursday late afternoon, it shipped on friday, and I picked it up at the warehouse monday morning...

So when that happens I will start a thread for owners with pics.. if someone doesn't beat me to it..
