Which sub is better?

Hi all!

I'm looking into getting a new sub to compliment my Klipsch Cornwall's and Heresy's. I have narrowed it down to two; The Klispch Sub 12 and the SVS PB12-NSD. Which of the two is the better sub? I'll mostly be using my setup for music with the occasional movie and game session. Your advice is much appreciated.

You can demo the Klipsch at Best Buy, it has alot of power but sounded a bit boomy when I checked it out. I was considering it, but now I'm looking at either the SVS PB12-NSD or the HSU VTF2 Mk 3.

PS Welcome to the forums!!!

On this forum the answer is obvious. Take a tour and see. Welcom to AVS!

Avoid any sub at BB or CC.. They're all over-priced..

Sorry if you have one..

yeah I went into best buy the other day and listened to the sub 12. It reminded me a lot of my computer klipsch systems woofer, the 5.1 ultras, sound wise.

I guess I'm looking for a sub thats more musically oriented, and from what I've read on this site, it seems the svs pb12-nsd reproduces the lower end more closely to what they were intended to sound like, yet are still able to rock the house when watching movies, playing games and what not.

My only real problem is that I can't hear the svs sub first, and its an online store only. but from what I've gathered, these guys have been in the business for awhile now making subs, so I guess I shouldn't worry too much about it

I believe they have a place you can listen to the subs for SVSound but it's located in Ohio (not sure though). And I'll be ordering a sub from them here really soon..

get the svs, you will not be dissapointed. I have the svs 25-31pci and the hsu 3.3.
and these 2 will easily outdo anything from cc or bb. the 25-31 is more or less the tube version of the pb12. for the $, you will not beat it!

I have the SVS PB-10(lower end Box sub) and even it will outperform anything anywhere near its price($500) at BB. Go for the SVS and don't look back. The Hsu subs are also great. You can't go wrong with either.
