Well said ... if you dissagree with other comments you have two options: respond and be prepared for wherever it comes, or just ignore it (as I will with all your posts from now on, even if you claim to have "years of experience" ...)

No, not just himself ... he mean "the educated people who shares experiences" not selfish that can't see far from their nose ...

Micke Mouse Club??? ... not for your entertainment

Educated huh, the combined IQ taken in that fine attempt(s) at structuring a simple sentence should qualify one of you for a GAD.

Hey guys. Im not in your league with the amount of JBL, HK, Infinity, etc. speakers, but last night I was listening to Ray Charles, Genius loves company CD/DVD produced by Monster Music (same company from the cables) limited edition. I was so delighted with the sound of my LX600 (15 years and going...). The sound quality in the CD was amazing. I have to say that Monster Music made a great job mastering that recording.
In the DVD you will find 96/24 DTS surround sound and the stage clarity was spectacular... full joy listening to Take 6 in the same album.
I can recomend the experience with Monster Music recordings, tough the reason for this post is to congratulate JBL for the LX600 sound.... wow.

I wonder how that CD is going to sound with my new L890s. Cant wait for them to arrive... probably next weekend.

Don't worry if you don't have a lot of JBL is not a competition ... we're just having good time (at least I do), to show that this is a friendly forum and anything can be discussed without offending

You better be prepared ... after taking a peek of the LX600 specifications, the LS 890's goes down to 35Hz instead of 40Hz ... but I don't know; LX600 has a 10" woofer but LS890 has two 8"s ... just let us know how it goes

170WPC should be enough to start ...

If not, there's your excuse to keep upgrading your equipment
post #3468 of 14061
since we're counting, I've got 20 JBLs and 1 Infinity.
But I can claim the most L212s @ 8; 10 counting the matching subs.
But total, I fall way short of filecat13.

I found this post ...

Patience will be rewarded when to comes to the Performance Series. I've accumulated a lot of it (4 PS1400s, 2 PC600s, 3 HTPS400s, and 13-15 PT800s), most of them NIB, some of them slightly used. I've never paid more that $460 for a piece and often paid $220-240 a piece.

It took me a year to get my first score of a NIB 5.1 system, then it just kept trickling in. I've stayed out of a lot of auctions for others I know to bid on and still managed to accumulate a ton of stuff ...

Hope he can post exactly what he has ...

I see that you have enough with the 260WPC @8 ohms with your QSC

Do you need the other amps to run the rest of the system??? ...

THANKS for the info BTW regarding the sub comparisons.

My comment with respect to the PB10 was related to both price and performance. If SVS put the PB10 on a price diet, then the equation changes.

If SVS priced it under $400 bucks, it'd be hard to beat in that segment. Looking at mine, they'd still be making $$ if it were priced at $320-340 IMO. It's a great combination of design and efficiency.

But if I can get an L8400P for a hundred bucks less than a PB10 (and I did), then the PB10 needs a price drop.

You're right in that the PB10 will be better than the L8400 in some installations; the L8400P will be better in others. In my fairly large music room, the PB10 is insufficient, while the L8400P does very well. Of course, the smaller HTPS400, is the king in that room, even if I only use one.

Yeah, I want to make a listening room on the other side of the house with some, set up the dedicated gaming rig (S38s) again and give the L830/810/LC1 to my girlfriend. So I need 2 more receivers, a 5.1 and a 7.1.

They have all three drivers in direct vertical alignment and were made from 1969 - 1972

Can anybody give me an idea what they are worth?

They are in excellent working condition. The drivers are near mint with no dents or scratches. The cabinets have been refinished and oiled to bring out the original beauty of the wood. They are really a great looking and working pair of speakers. I don't see many of these around any more so I can't get any indication of their value. Can anyone help me out as to their value?

Thanks.

They're priceless--to me. I still have my original in-line L100s and use them weekly. They're the best of the three versions of the L100, IMO. In fact, I liked them so much I bought a mint pair a while back for the ridiculous price of $250!! They easily could have sold for $400-600 dollars.

Happened to be on ebay when they popped up with a BIN of $250. My head started to spin, my eyes glazed over, my tongue was numb in my mouth, drool dripped down my chin... the next thing I remember was seeing "I need to pay for one item" on My eBay.

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a little advice on a possible upgrade from my JBL Northridge series speakers to the Studio L series. If advice on this topic has already been given then I apologize. I tried searching the forum but couldn't find any info similar to my situation.

Currently I am running a 7.1 setup with the Harman Kardon AVR 235 receiver. My plan is to upgrade the receiver to either the AVR 655 or 755 when they are available in the fall. I have the following speakers:

Center - EC35
Towers - E80 (dual 6")
Sides - E30
Rears - L830 Studio Series (just recently purchased)
Sub - E150P (10")

I recently purchased a pair of L830 to expand my setup to 7.1 in preparation for the new Harman Kardon Receivers, but now I am considering replacing the the remaining Northridge speakers with ones from the Studio L line. If upgrading I would probably purchase:

Center - LC2
Towers - L890 (dual 8")
Sub - L8400P (12")
Sides - L830
Rears - L830 (The ones I already own)

What I would like is advice on is weather or not you think it is a worthwhile or not? The upgrade would cost in the neighborhood of $1500, but if the performance increase is significant then I would consider it. Would it be wiser to only upgrade some of the speakers?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think it would be quite an improvement, the Studio L series is very good, the L890s are the jewel of the series, although there isn't a bad one in the series.
