Certain Warner Titles and Lord of the Rings on blu-ray?

Does anybody know if warner is planning on releasing Batman Begins, The Matrix and other titles that are currently only on HD-DVD on blu-ray now that BD-Java profile 1.1 and 2.0 will be coming out? If so, can you provide link and any dates even if they are only "fall 2007".

Also, has anybody heard or know of any information about Lord of the Rings on blu-ray? I know that, at least originally, new line cinema was exclusive to HD-DVD and that they have no titles on blu-ray currently.

I do remember an article posted on engadget.com at the beginning of the year stating that they were told (via CES I believe) that lord of the rings was in the works for both formats.

Any information on any of this would be great.

Thanks guys!

Next time please include a question mark ('?') at the end of the subject line of such a thread to indicate your query of when (if) such titles will be made available. Otherwise it appears as if it is an announcement which is misleading.

OMG. Can we PLEASE go one day without somebody creating a thread about LotR?

It is not about LotR only. If you are not interested in the thread that is perfectly fine. Just ignore it and move on. There are all sorts of threads that seem repetitive or annoying to me, but I don't post on them. Please refrain from posting unless you have something to contribute to the topic or can supply a link to an existing thread that covers the topic at hand.

I will post wherever I damn well feel.

Or you can use the search button in the future.

It's people like you that ruin forums. There is no reason for your attitude or language. I CAN ALSO POST "whatever I damn well feel" and I choose to post this thread. DEAL WITH IT. I'm sorry that you have nothing better to do than go around and post your annoyance with other people's posts. I wish I had that kind of time.

I would really like to get back on topic. I apologize to everyone that had to read that. What a waste of time. Anybody have any information on these titles for blu-ray??

I'm guessing that Warner is waiting for the BD spec to be finalized before releasing their major players. As for LOTR, New Line has yet to enter into the high def war with an official release. I would expect that some announcements will come this fall.

Theres no need for rudeness but he has a point as threads about these movies do pop up everyday.

Someone could have just posted this thread (although it's all just rumour) and saved the bickering:

I completely agree with theforce8686.

I tried typing in "lord of the rings" for example, in the search engine. Nothing useful comes up unless you want to go through hundreds of pages looking for your one question. I don't have that kind of time. If there is a duplicate thread or threads, please point me in the right direction and I will be happy to terminate this thread. The search in just not adequate sometimes.

I am just looking for information. I am not trying to bother anybody or create unnecessary threads.

Now, can we get back on topic please.

Use advance search, title search only, single words work best. Make sure to highlight the appropriate forum from the list to the right.

Here are a few of the LOTR threads that can be found using the search engine
