Need some sub advice please!

I am looking for a sub for a family room for 50/50 HT/music. The room is 24x17x8.5 with 2 doorways opening into other rooms. I was looking at the ED A2-250, A2-300, A3-250. Now I have the opportunity to buy a HSU VTF-2 (yeah older version) for 275, and am unsure which would fill the room better. As this is not my main HT I want to keep costs down, but still want a quality sub. I haven't heard much about the musicality of the ED subs. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

not familiar with the ed sub but placing a budget would help and that size room open to other
rooms looks like it will have to have a nice sub to get the job done.

Thanks for the response. As this is not my primary HT, I don't want to spend more than $350, but I want a decent sub, especially for music.

i would look into the for sale on the avs for good used or hsu or svs but from experience
spending on a cheap sub usually ends up in disappointment.

If 350 is your budget, that HSU should do well in your room for that budget.

eD's were known in the car audio circles for their SQ for musicality! In delving into HT subs, the SQ definitly came over also. With free shipping, and 30 day return policy, you really can't go wrong trying them out. You will be very pleasently surprised! Check out craigsubs list on this forum, and you will find eD very highly rated!
