Finally a movie worth importing for me. Any other sources for this HD-DVD? Xploited?
I've emailed Tony at Xploited about it.

He's going to check with his Polish suppliers and get back to me.

I did the same. Looks like this one will be a big import title.

Why do they put movies in other countries and not here when it comes only to HD-DVD and Blu-Ray? Why not do it with DVD but for other formats?

?

They do. Movies are owned and distributed by different companies in different countries. That's the whole reason behind region coding. It's just as true for DVD as it is for HD-DVD (and BR)

Thankfully, HD-DVDs are region free, so we can buy them from where ever we want and play them on our North American players.

i will try to translate
Watched yesterday evening: Mr. & Mrs Smith in HD-DVD
(Edition Polish)

3 tracks sounds are available on this importation: 1 English in
DTS-HD (1.5Mb/sec), 1 English in Polish DD+ (640 Kbps) and
1 in DD+ (640kbps) Of the optional subtitles in Polish and Rumanian
are also available.

The very smoothed image (without apparant grain) is of an
incredible cleanliness with an irreproachable master without noise
neither dust, nor white points... Really good job! Contrasts are well
supported accentuating the effect of relief without producing an
"artificial" environment. The level of black is superb. Colorimetry is
also same level and it is a pleasure for the eyes. In short I was
impressed!

AQ its track DTS HD in VO is thundering. The effects circle in
all the directions and all the enclosures are requested permanently
(the box breathes and is given some to heart joy at the time of the
many scenes of action). Good job!

A title with highly recommending for the amateurs of beautiful sound
(in VO) and of beautiful image. It is only to deplore the fact that
it is necessary to juggle a little to get this title in HD-DVD and
to use once again of the European importation (grrr damned war
of formats) which costs nevertheless a little expensive (30
euros port included shipping) compared with the ones bought from US

I ordered it yesterday.

This shop does international delivery:

Unfortunately it's in polish. But I found my way through it.

I see your location is Germany, I'm sure that helps you somewhat. Poland getting an HD DVD before the U.S. version? Wow, HD DVD's truly are a worldwide product. As said before thank god for region free!

Incredible, Fox cancels their release of this film - after all the hoopla, cheerleading, and HD DVD poo pooing at CES - and now its released on HD DVD in Europe, while the US Fox release is nowhere on the radar.

How incredibly competent, deny the US consumers this film with a last minute cancellation and no new release date so you can work on additional content protection. And now it comes out on HD DVD in Europe where its bound to be re-encoded and uploaded to the internet where thousands of disgruntled American consumers with high-speed internet access are pissed off about their cancelled Blu-Ray release. Good job on the anti-piracy measures Fox!!!!

Jason from HD Addicts is also looking into this titles availability. I will post his e-mail response once received.

Anyone know what features it has and which version (Theatrical or Unrated) it is?
I certainly hope someone imports it for the rest as I tried but I just can't make heads or tails of the polish sites.

Fox titles being released on HD DVD before being released on Blu Ray... oh, the irony.
