Hello everyone,

I am currently looking at purchasing a new flat screen television to replace my Sony WEGA 32 inch CRT HDTV... Love my sony but the screen is just seeming a tad small now adays and the size of hte casing is just crazy....

so if anyone out there could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Im looking at these model numbers

LG

LG 47 LC7D

Samsung

LNT 4661
(this samsung doesnt have the F on the end of the model number which i see alot of ppl do have .. is there a difference?)

and then the Panasonic Plasma

TH50Pz700

again any input would be greatly appreciated

Thanks!

Ryan

If it were me, out of those three I'd go for the Panasonic plasma without question.

I'd go for LNT4665F from Samsung, has been the top seller for some time on Amazon and has great reviews, & U R getting 15,000:1 contrast ratio...

There is a recent thread on Sammy LCD versus Panny Plasma. One poster has both and prefers the Panny.

Read the other thread...

I have had my 50PZ700U for two weeks now (just finished my break-in period)and all I can say is that it is amazing. HD is mind blowing and SD (COX cable) is even better than I ever imagined. I also have the Panny 10A Blu Ray player - absolutely the best picture I have ever seen. You cannot go wrong with the Panny!

You really can not go wrong with any of the sets. It boils down to your personal preferences. Some folks like plasma over lcd others vice versa. Both technologies have their pluses and both have minuses. Just because some like the Panasonic or Samsung does not mean you will like the same sets. Some people swear by GM cars others like Ford. There is no all inclusive right answer. My recommendation is to look at the different sets and let your eyes decide.

ryan look at what Nmlobo just pointed, his opinion is just, both manufacturers along with Sony in LCD & Pioneer in Plasma make real good sets, so it is a personal prefrance...

If your room is sunny, bright nix the Panasonic or any plasma and go for the Samsung LCD and choose what you prefer. Reflections, glare and washout suck on PDP's if you have a sunny room.

Your money - your Eyes - choose what says WoW to you!

You must first decide which technology you prefer. As mentioned, they all have compromises. Then start your hunt beginning with your price point.
