infamous Natalie Portman scene in Closer

I just picked up Closer and Seven Years in Tibet because of the Fry's deal and I was checking out the table dance scene a little closer. I've always wondered how they got Natalie to do this scene and with high def I now know why. I checked out the scene using the step button and you can see she has on something under the g-string. Something I never noticed on regular dvd but you can see it easy on Blu-Ray. I was actually hoping Clive actually got a peak but no dice.

Very interesting...Hollywood magic at work.
It isn't surprising, she is known to be quite conservative.

What, you mean like a flesh toned body suit? Well that's a buzz kill. hehe

This is like one of those things I know subconsciously but my conscious mind try to ignore.

Until now.

Yeah its like a flesh tone g-string. I always thought it was just editing between a stand in and Natalie but that one scene where she spreads right in front of him couldn't be done with a stand in.

What a great scene.

Ditto. And being unfamiliar w/ the film - it came as a pleasant shock to me

p.s.
Wonder what George Lucas thought of young Padme in this film (Revenge Of The Sith was released just 5 months later)

Gotta love HD!

The thing is, there was supposedly a lot of actual nudity but she made them cut it.

Maybe he was thinking about "wardrobe malfunction," a la Janet Jackson.

It was the director who actually cut it. He thought it'd be better if it was shot from behind.

I just watched the Closer BD two days ago and while I admittedly paid "closer" attention to the scene in question I didn't notice any cover-up material. Although this was on a 61" screen I suspect I must not have watched it as closely as I could have because my wife was sitting right next to me watching the movie as well.
