Hey guys I have been watching this tv for some time now and today I found out just how many different models are out there. Circuit City sells this model (WD-Y65) for $2999 but is having a sale that brings it down to about $1899. Now that's a steal i'm sure but I was hoping you guys could let me know what is different betweens these models and what i'd lose by now going for a 732 or 831. Would you jump on this deal? The more information the better...thanks guys!

When I looking for RP TVs, I came across that and I think the WD-Y65 lacks the deeper blacks+better details, etc that is an feature on the newer 732 sets. Basically, the WD is supposed to be the lower end models.

I could be wrong though

Ya it's supposed to be the base model...i'm just wondering how much are you losing? Has anyone compared this set with the 732 or the high end 831 model? $1899 for a 65 inch dlp is pretty nice.

I would recommend the 732 due to its much better black levels. Since its last year's model you should be able to find a pretty good deal on one if you look around. I recently got a 732 and I'm very happy with it so far.

So you've seen the WD-Y65 version to compare? I see alot of people going for the 732 as it seems to have the "important features" and they feel they don't need the extras the 831 comes with as it doesn't validate the cost difference.

I would just hate to get a cheaper version and feel limited later on ya know? Of course i'd hate to miss this sale if there isn't much difference between the models. I am leaning towards the 732 though if I can get it for around the same price.
