Do you a list of sources you're considering? I was figuring I'd have to build one.

Woolly,

Another place to get yourself a booth is at a restaurant auction. I have a place close to me that has an auction almost monthly. When a restaurant goes under, they sell off everything.

i don't know if it's me or not but wooly's voice terrifies me, makes me want to run away

Great Demo today W00lly, I must say, this was the first time I have ever seen a sub package vibrate the power cord out of a projector. Very impressive.

I will post up some new pics as my cabinets came in. Just need to go order some cabinet lighting before I install all of them.

Also found a online supplier for the restaurantt Booths I will let everyone know the source and quality of them when they come in.

Just planning for the inevitable upgrade bug that will strike... trust me.

With the buzz starting about object-oriented surround tracks (like Dolby Atmos and DTS Multi-Dimensional Audio) showing up in consumer media products in just a little while, you will probably want to consider upgrades to your speakers. Object-oriented surround does place an emphasis on timbre matching all speakers throughout the theater.

Due to the fact you have PSB's up front and Jamo surrounds, I would recommend (when the time comes) looking into speakers from the same manufacturing family. Since you have columns, you'll still want in-wall surrounds that timbre match the front behind the screen vertical speakers (if you're up for a little more carpentry work, the dummy columns could be retrofitted with another set of side surrounds). For the over-head height speakers, you could mount either MDF channels with in-walls installed (like your columns)... or you could run two thin beams from front to back (anchoring them to your ceiling and soffits) and attach smaller matching speakers on brackets to angle them at the listening sweet spots just like in the Atmos white paper recommendations. Run the speaker wires in the channels or beams to hide them.

And you thought you were finished. biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

Looking forward to seeing pics of the booth and cabinets.

OTOH upgradeitus is a chronic not an acute disease. I have traced its origins and discovered as males we are infected shortly after birth and it only gets worse (and more expensive) after that. True satisfaction only lasts for a moment and then the search is on for the next thing to help cure this horrific disease. On the plus side it does help the economy but plays hell with the wallet and budget. biggrin.gif

Here's a bit of a update. I'm heading to pick up back splash tile today and once that's installed I'm done eek.gif we have a bit more decorating to do but we are pretty happy with the way it has turned out.

if anyone is interested on where I got the poster frames they are pretty sweet. They are built so you can change out the poster. I can't seem to find the black ones http://www.displays2go.com/Product.aspx?ID=5460

What kind of speakers did you get?

Thanks Anders

Those are PSB's like the ones I have in the theater now with one less woofer per tower. I bought them last year thinking I mite go 9.1

I also have all the wood to build a cabinet for my components and center channel but can't seem to find the time to bust it out.

It should look something like this without the drawers

You know it does but it will never really be done as things will be tweaked and upgraded as time goes on.

HAHA! But who's counting!

Yes I know it does feel good getting to this point, and I know that a theater is truly NEVER finished, it is just in a constant state of slow evolution. biggrin.gif

All the same, you can call it finished, done, or completed and we all know what THAT really means. Shhhh.........I won't tell if you don't. wink.gif

RTROSE

Oh, and I may or may not have ever commented on your AVATAR but every time I see it, it brings a smile to my face. Especially when you had the "You talking to me?" tag below or at least I think I remember seeing that at one time or another. Ah but I digress.

You did lol I changed it back. I can't wait for the upgrades that are coming in the next couple years now that the bleeding has stopped. I have a big box of receipts from almost 6 years of spending that have never been added up eek.gif

I got the picture from http://www.standoutdesigns.com/

I would love to own one of there cabinets but they are way out of my price range and I can build one that looks similar for a fraction of the price..

Thanks for the link. Yeah prices for these are overpriced. I just wanted to show my wife so I can convince her to keep the current setup we have in the living room. I got a cheap setup for now in my living room from Target. For now I pull the drawer out and put my center channel in it and have a separate tower for all the components.
