Yes they can be dimmed from the switch or the remote has dimmer settings on it also They are also GU10 bulbs I do think they come in other styles but not real sure

I found that the IR on the bulb mite have to be hooked into another IR setup. when I tested it you had to be pretty straight on to get the remote to work. Since I have not installed these yet I wont know until then

Heat is the issue with those non IC little cans if you run a LED bulb instead of the halogen I don't really think its a issue since the LED"S do not put off any real heat. You can put your fingers on the face of them and keep it there try doing that with those Minnie halogens. and the LEDS come in a ton of colors or plain old white I will post some photo's of my light install soon


I have not pulled any of my wire yet I am planning that shortly. I ran the conduit just for the fact if any of my wires be it speaker-sub-IR goes bad or I want to add a wire I can just pull out the bad and pull in the new. I wish I would have just run two one inch orange smurf tubes to the front

I have learned alot along the way of the things I would do a bit different. I planned to use wall plates but since I am using a acoustical transparent screen I'm just going to run my speaker wires from source to speaker

It would really suck to do all that work and have one speaker wire or sub cable go bad and not have a way to get to it without tearing up your drywall

Evening All

Well I finished up framing the equipment room and the new closet for the bedroom today. Tomorrow I'll finish up re running my electrical wiring and start hanging some drywall back up I think this layout works alot better then the way I had it set up the first time. Now to decided if I just want to build my own rack or buy a middle Atlantic rack.

I used 3/4 OSB and glued it to the beam with liquid nails. If you go back and look through the photo's on page 1 #25 you can see where I glued on the OSB. I did this before drywall so I could screw the top of the OSB to the 2x8 the builder glued to the top of the beam and then ran a generous amount of the liquid nails along the bottom and clamped it tight left it for a good 2 days before the clamps were removed. for the bottom I did pretty much the same thing but screwed a 2x4 nailer to the wall page 3 #71

Can't wait to put my SmX 12' 2.35:1 screen together. I have had it for over 3 months now and I have been itching to take it out of the box

There's alot of glitch's as I didn't even finish the drywall The one you see up front is a opening to conduit for the fiber optic cable for the star ceiling.

Craig you don't know how pumped I am after dragging the chairs in there last night. I am going to work full steam ahead to get this thing up a running ASAP

Well I spent about 2 hours in a fabric store today that supply's upholstery and drapery fabric. When I walked into this store I could not believe how many fabrics they had - thousands. Needless to say many were way out of my price range starting at $20 a yard on up I brought a few home and the wife and I chose this one

I plan to go with black about 4 foot up then the rest the green material. I am also going to do some columns of some sort in between the sconces. I am heading out to place the fabric order now. I am also installing those LED's today I will try and post a little video later tonight of the them in action
