Well I stoped in the fabric store to order the fabric today and one of the other gals that works there tells me the fabric company I just chose to order from just filed bankruptcy. They were going to call me back but never did I have a bad feeling I am going to be SOL I will try and call tomorrow and see. Man I really want that fabric I have my fingers crossed

On a up note I got the LED's installed and uploaded a little video of the lights onto youtube not sure if it came out we will see

Maybe this could turn in to a good opportunity to get the fabric CHEAP! Did you get the name of the manufacturer? They may have to liquidate stock under court order.
If you get the fabric...just be sure to order extra

Here is my little video. The quality is not up to cams standards as I shot it with my digital camera. The LED's are alot brighter in person but this gives you a idea of how they function

Scott! That looks great!

P.S. The only difference between a professional photographer and an amateur photographer is that the amateur shows you ALL of his pictures

Just checked out your video woolly, those look great.

I think I'll definately be getting some when I start building my screen wall so they can shine on the screen. The fact that I can turn them on with the Grafik eye will give me the control I want. Do they start up at a specific mode every time or do they go to the last mode you left them on when powered up? Silly question cause you showed the boxes before but just to be sure, are these the screw in type or the ones with the prongs? I only ask because said GU10 which I thought were the 2 prong ones but the boxes look like the E27 type. Thanks for clarifying. Keep on chugging along...

They are the gu10 with the 2 prongs. Yes it stays on what ever mode you chose last. It can be set to a single color or cycle through all the colors. They are much brighter then what they look in the video

I *REALLY* like these. I have to get them for my theater.

Thanks for the video.

Well they had the green fabric in stock WOOHOO but I'm not real sure if it will be shipped before christmas.

Scott,
Congrats on the fabric Sounds like you found it just in the nick of time!
I was considering the bulbs you got because they are SO COOL!
My cans take the GU10 two prong bulbs as well. They also sell the MR16 two prong and E27 screw in.

GU10

I found the correct base on ebay:
item number 200175175656
And I also found a website that sells the whole product line.
http://www.wiedamark.com/index.asp?P...S&Category=826

But... It says the GU10 model may not fit all cans. The LED bulbs are longer than the regular counterparts. But I think the cans I picked up are similar to yours... I think I may still have to measure to see it they will fit.

So I'm crossing my fingers

Can you just wire the lights together... or do you need the controller box they are selling. Just double checking that they will they work on dimmer ( I think you mentioned that earlier) or will I need to configure my switches for regular on/off?

Your space is looking great!

The cans you have are the same as the ones I used so they do fit with no problems. The bulbs are just a bit longer and there is quite a bit of play with the part that plugs into the bulb. you do not need the control box what you need is one master bulb and then run slaves to it.

The little wires coming out of the bulbs are not vary long so I just picked up some wire from radio shack and soldered some longer pieces on to reach the master and then put some shrink wrap over the splice. Since these bulb really give off no heat I ran the control wire up through one of the many holes in the top of the can

Here's A shout out to Ruben at SmX this frame went together in about 2 minutes. Took longer to get it out of the box
Ruben and his guys did a awesome job

Good looking progress. Do you think you will have it done in time for the one year anniversary of our meet at Dan's? Hope so!

Very nice! What are the wall treatments going to be? Where are you getting them from. You obviously aren't planning on mudding and taping the walls at this point

Stay tuned the pictures to follow in the next week will explain alot on how I'll do it. I have been changing my design as I have went along many times so I still might change it again Thats one reason I am still not done

I figured why spend all that time and mess finishing the drywall when I was just going to cover it up

Scott,

I like the fabric your wife chose. Where did you end up getting it? Joanns? Things are really starting to come together. I wish I could get a deal on chairs like you got. The wife and I were at Sam's Club the other day and saw a 4 piece set in leather; couch, 2 chairs and an ottoman for $1500 give or take. I thought about seats in mine but at 10'-6" wide seats take up too much room in the back row and my wife thought that we can use the couch and chairs somewhere else should we ever move.

PS Don't forget the fire retardant.

Hello All

Well I finished the screen wall today The SMX Screen will friction fit into the the frame of the wall, I covered it with Fidelio velvet. The SMX frame is sitting in there but its really hard to see it. I'm working on building the panels now that will go around the screen they also will be covered with the Fidelio velvet. It really is amazing how black this stuff is

Looking good dude! That is a nice size screen.

What router bit did you use for the round over on your stage lip? I think I will route the edge of mine too!

Thanks!

12' wide screen. I think it will work

I used a half inch round over bit
Are you leaving the wall behind the SMX white? I still haven't decided whether to go AT or not (and then, DIY/SMX/Stewart after that decision), but I figured I'd have to paint flat black behind the screen if I did (which would knock down the "cool" of the LED lamps quite a bit I'd think).

Awesome looking build. If you're 90% done, that's 89% ahead of me.

Well? Did you build those columns or what!!!
