That's the cleanest drywall install I've ever seen. From sheet alignment to screw pattern, it's picture perfect. I'm currently finishing the rest of my basement (in hurry-up mode). Compared to your pictures there, it looks like my drywall wall is being hung by monkeys.

They turned out pretty fine. I have my receiver turned way up to push them as my gain doesn't seem to be working as intended but the end result is the same .... pretty impressive.
I brought a friend over a couple of weeks ago had him sit in the back row and threw in the Xbox 360 demo for Dirt and fired it up. You should have seen his eyes he couldn't believe it. The entire riser vibrates like you were in a buggy and when you crash you know it.
I can't wait to get the 2 in the front installed the rest of the kinks worked out (the installer are supposed to be coming next friday and then hopefully 2 weeks after that the acoustic engineer will be alone to tweak the system and hook up the feed back destroyers which at this point aren't plugged in.)

I'll let you know when it is all complete but my initial review is 2 thumbs up despite the fact I have to drive the subs to get the desired results (which I'm fine with I'm sure they were designed to put out anyways they are not low end subs).

Your project is coming along nicely I'm impressed with your level of detail. It seems every year the DIY crowd raises the bar - If I ever sell and move south I'll know a few members I contact to see if they were selling their homes just for their HT rooms

What about angling the end of the screen wall so that it covers the panel. Something like

Plus that would give you some hidden room for bass traps. If you make the "\\" part a removable panel you could easily get to the breaker.

That screen is nice and big I like it ! Your going to be real happy with the SMX I was / still am impressed every time I turn the PJ on in the basement

Quick question W00lly, in post #18, what are the blue tubes for? I am assuming to run the speaker wire through and hook directly into the J-Box. Question, what are these actually called, and where can I get them? I.e if it is from a website, what would I search under. By the way, excellent looking so far.

I don't know what he is using them for specifically, but they look to be for the A/V wiring since you can see bare romex going to the outlet locations.

You can buy that tubing at Home Depot or other big box in the electrical department right next to the gray PVC.

Looking good W00lly. I would stuff them with insulation everywhere including the "cans area"

Carpet is a bear. I can't never find anything I like/afford. I am in denial on that issue.

That said, of the ones you put up, I like the darkest, gray one best.

I like the grey one, but I am a sucker for grey.

I have the same dilemma with color, or perhaps lack thereof in my theater project. I'm going to use the grey GOM on the side and back walls and black in the front. Ceiling is painted flat grey and the carpet is well, grey. But I found a grey carpet with some red/purplish dots in it. Figured that will give the room at least a little color. I may also get some redish seats later, but I haven't quite decided on that just yet.

If you dont mind, where did you find the carpets you were looking at or the mfg. and style number. I kind of like both and wouldn't mind looking at them a little closer.
