There are a bunch of guys using it. At $1999.00 how can you go wrong

Check out the 4000 review thread
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1186232

Where are you located I'm sure you could get a AVS member to demo there's. Your welcome to come check mine out if your in my area.

Scott,

You're correct, at that price point you likely cannot go wrong. All of the reviews seem favorable, perhaps the only drawback seems to be less light output than other projectors on typical 100" screens. Of course, your screen is pretty big and I guess the brightness is not an issue.
I went down to my room, which is just sticks at the moment, and a 12' 2.35 screen fits on the front wall perfect, with ample room for the soffit and side speaker enclosures. The 'wider' screen looks better the more I think about it.
I'm in New Jersey, just a stone's throw from the Atlantic Ocean. If anyone in the area has one of the Panasonics I'd be in for a demo, I'll buy dinner and the beer.

Rgs,
Teeg

Work has been crazy the last 6 weeks but things are heating up so things are slowing down. I have had some free time the last week getting ready for drywall. I started hanging some yesterday and today

Finally getting my computer/component room started. Thought I would post these before I closed it all up.

This wall will have a built in desk with a duel computer setup cabinets above both computers with shelving in the middle for my DVD collection.

more pictures to come

By myself I think its not going to happen but I will try my hardest. Plus I cant work late week nights as my wife goes to bed at 8:30 as she gets up at 4:30 so I must crame as much work into the little time I have to work with.

First coat of mud I did last night in the component room.

I'm working on getting some quotes on installing a egress window but not having much luck as no one returns phone calls I mite be doing it myself

If you hire out the concrete cutting, I can help you put in the new window.

Those are the guys that are not returning my calls. They must hate doing egress windows. I have been watching some concrete chain saws on Ebay and mite look to see if any of the rental places have them.

I hear ya on the no returned calls. I called 3 places for a quote to replace my lawn, none of them provided a quote and I never heard from them again. No wonder the economy sucks.
No sh!t! I couldn't believe that through this process, I could not get some
people to call me back. My money must be marked or something. I even got to the point on some jobs where I was willing to pay some of the prices people charge to get things done.

I hear you guys. I'm glad that I'm able to do just about anything that needs done around my house and feel sorry for all the people that can't do anything and have to rely on others to do the work for them

One of the first jobs I ever had was a tree trimmer so running a concrete chain saw would be similar to cutting logs. I think if I can pick one up pretty cheap I'll just cut the egress openings myself and use the money I would have spent for the windows.

Except for the water. Don't forget the water. All the concrete saws I've used have to cut wet.

See the beginning of Cathan's build. He had a window put in.

I remember that and he paid like 4k for one window. all the more reason to do this myself.

Absolutely awesome build man. I am new to this forum right after I decided to ditch LCDs and go the projector route. I came here to get more info on the performance of projectors and screen types......

Big mistake. God I hate you guys

I wanted these escape egress windows and only one place here in town that carried them quoted me $3500 to excavate soil, cut concrete and install the window. I said I would dig the hole and got it down to $2400 I still thought that was over the top as I'm a do it yourself kind of guy

I did a bit of research and found a online source for the windows I wanted. The local place wanted $900 each I got them online for $700 shipped so I went ahead and ordered two. I also just bought a ICS 633GC 14 Inch concrete chainsaw off ebay for $790 shipped so I have everything to install them myself. Hopefully the chainsaw gets here by next weekend and I'll try to get one installed.

I also finished up the drywall work in my component/computer room and painted it. I just need to figure out if I'm going to build the cabinets or have someone else do it. Then I can install the flooring, doors and trim.
