The definitive video (x264) conversion thread - Page 4

well...in that case....it's been cracked (or at least I hope so)...I'll post the new method in the morning (UK time).....

K

UPDATE: I'm doing more tests on the new method, just to make I'm 100% sure this time....when I'm 100% happy it will works for both 1080p and 720p MKV to TS, then, I'll post a guide.....If I'm not 100% happy, I'll continue to work on this until either, I've cracked it, or TSmuxer is out with MKV support.

Can't wait for procedure...

BTW,, does this new method work with any rez..?? (720/1080p) and DD/DTS??

Thanx..

MKV2TS...version .84 is out, it seems to work with 720p and 1080p MKV with AC3...grab it before the version changes:

http://ambamo.free.fr/temp/mp4/MKV2TS.rar

Now, if someone could just ask (in French) if there is a way to leave the DTS track and mux that in.......???!!!

K

UPDATE: The progam will tranzcode DTS into AC3, but the aften and Tranzocode versions that are included are buggy. So do a search for the latest versions, delete the ones in the MKV2TS folder and replace with the new ones...It works.
Ok....I've done the bit for you lot.....

Here's v.84 of MKV2TS, with the correct and working versions of Aften and Tranzcode....

Your Awesome....

Will try this new version now.....

Have you had any problems with Audio sync??

If not, way cool...

BTW,,

When the DTS is converted to DD, how is the final sound quality?? Does it sound compressed, or full of life almost like the orig. DTS track??

Thanx again for your hard work/researching..

Not yet...although still testing on a couple of files that I could not get to sync with the MKV2VFR AVI method....tried 3 of 6 films so far and all in sync!

It look like it keeps the same HZ etc, and sounds the same (you will get an ever so slight drop...but I cant notice)

So, what's different in this new version?? Is something tweaked in the settings of the filters?

Thanx again for the responce..
With this new version, do you need xmuxer pro installed?? or does this package have all the needed filters, etc...??

Thanx much, and now having fun testing...

Will report findings with my Tvix...

Yeah, different filters, and it chops about a second out to get round the sync issues....dont know how that works, but it does...

mmm...no feedback means one of three things:

1 - It's just not working for you

2 - Your having so much fun, that you can't tear yourself away from your media players

3 - You have a life....lol

Can't get on my Telly/TVix at the moment (Kids!!!)

I did a quick test of the "Bobby" clip posted earlier and it worked streamed over Samba share for me .

I will try and test some of the other files later, but that Bobby clip has never worked without stuttering for me before.

Thanks for all the research you've done here.
Mark.

Well, I don't have a small sample handy, but i'm converting a full vid. It's taking quite some time (so far it's been running 1h50m on a 2h05m movie and counting), but hopefully the result is worth it! I'll let you know!

What spec PC do you have...I can do a full movie in under 20 mins....you may have old codec.....before you try this, make sure you still have the mkv2ts zar file I posted on rapidshare, just in case.

Download this...
http://rapidshare.com/files/41946941..._30fr.zip.html

Go to the MKV2TS folder, tools, filter-mkv2ts. Run the unregister bat.

Next, open the download above, and run filmerit_30fr.exe, select reg button on the top left, this will make sure you have the latest filters and codecs for this process.

Thanks for the tip, this is what i did just now:

ran the unregister.bat
ran the filmerit exe, and chose the button on the top left, this yielded "0 erreur sur 193 filtres".

should i run the register.bat from the mkv2ts folder now?

The movie has finished remuxing now, the first graph took exactly as long as the movie, after that it was done in a few minutes.

Specs:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
2GB of RAM,
Samsung SATA harddisk running Vista Home Premium.

No, there should be no need to re-run the bat register...

Have you tested your TS file?

Anyhows...time to go relax....back in the morning (UK time)

K
Gotta wait a few minz for my tvix to become available... Girlfriend's watchin her Desperate Housewives

It could be Vista related, although i hope not... If I get the chance I'll give it a try on my XP machine at work tomorrow (eventhough it has sucky specs :P)

I'll let you know in a few minutes how it turned out!

EDIT:

Seems to be working overall, eventhough there are some video freezes every now and then (Tested on my TViX 4100). Gonna give remuxing a go on an XP virtual machine, maybe that speeds stuff up a bit...

Hmmz... the remuxing on the virtual machine caused some choppiness on the video aswell (so far this has been the best i've ever been able to get on my TViX though)...

muad'dib: on what kind of machine did you do the remux?
