To be sure, there is a difference between DTS-HD and DT-HD MA, and both are optional for HD DVD players.
I find it next to impossible to believe the SHARC processors in the G1 players are incapable of supporting those CODECs (it's just arithmetic). It seems like there could be more of an issue with the G2 players supporting it since they have less SHARC processor power (1 Vs 4) and I don't see the lossless CODECs in the NEC EMMA specs.
It could well be Toshiba has chosen to leave those CODECs off, but I doubt neither generation player is capable of supporting them. Still, we've no proof either way.
PS. Back around October, Robert of VE did say a Toshiba technical manager had told him DTS-MA was expected for G2, I asked him via PM whether this also applied to G1, but he had no info on that.
