Experience with HD Component Video Switchers

I'm not sure what the right thread is, so I'll try here first. I am trying to decide on a component video switcher that will include as inputs a Samsung BD-P1200 @ 1080i, an HD-XA2 @480p/1080i and an OPPO 970 @480p. Does anybody have experience with the following switchers with HD sources?

- Monoprice (Lenexpo 4 port)
- Inday 4 port

Will either of these work without signal degradation? I will also be leaving components powered on, so I want to make sure there will be no cross-talk with multiple active sources on.

miata, no experience with the devices you list. I do have a Zektor HDMI5 switcher and it works very well.

Zektor has a HDS4x2 Active Matrix Component Video Switcher that may work for you. Click here for info. It can be mounted in a standard 19" equipment rack with the optional rack ears. It may be available from here at AVS or Digital Connection at a discount.

As long as the device has a high rated bandwidth, component switching is a piece of cake. Nothing like what we are going through with HDMI by an means.

I did see the HDS4.1, but it is 3-8 times the price of the two that I listed and I really do only need to switch the 3 RCA component connections. If the signal is good I would prefer to save a little month

I have an Audio Authority 1154 I no longer use. PM me if you're interested.

I have the monoprice one and It wasn't good enough for HD video. There was significant signal degradation. I ended up springing for the Key Digital KD-CSW2X1, but it was close to $300 (the four switch is even more). IT was worth it though, and I can confidently say there is absolutely zero signal loss/degradation with this switcher.

I have had the Inday for several years and it works beautifully. No signal degradation at all.

At $129 this might be the way to go then. The Zektor is a much slicker looking unit, but at double the price a little hard to justify.

Thanks everybody.

I'll put in another vote for the zektor. Check the for sale forums, switchers in general usually pop up there every now and then (that's where I bought a used zektor unit). I think the zektor can handle 1080p bandwidth, which is what I went ahead and paid extra for (future capability).

You are absolutely right -- checked Videogon. Is there any reason to believe that these things would degrade over time?

I bought a Psyclone at BB for like $110 and it has been OUTSTANDING. No picture quality degredation at all.

This one looked encouraging until I read a in couple of posts that there was cross-talk if multiple sources were on at the same time. With HD players I will generally not be power down the components -- they are slow enough as is.

To me these things either work or they don't. I'd think it was unusual to have one degrade over time. I forgot about videogon. Thanks for the reminder and good luck in your search.
