the model number is KV-40XBR700 and also what picture mode should it be on when im playing xbox 360?

That model is can display 1080i. It will take a 720p signal and upconvert it to 1080i. You can set your XBOX to 1080i or 720p. You might want to select each one to see if your XBOX upconverts better then the 700.
