PJ's with Built-In Sleep Timer?

Maybe I'm getting old, but I keep falling asleep with the PJ going until 3:00 AM. You would think that the repeating movie trailer would jolt me from my sleep, or those annoying infomercials. No wonder I wake up dialing 800 numbers! I was wondering if anyone knows of a PJ with a programmable sleep timer. If not, I guess I will build my own timer and connect it to the 12V trigger out.

I might just make me a circuit that plugs into my 12V trigger out. My Panny requires two burst of "OFF" in order to shut down. Since I'm awake when I turn on the PJ (I think), then the remote handles the "ON" command. The 12V trigger comes active, whereby it will start the timer (microprocessor). I would probably set it for 3 hours. After the timeout period, it will send a double "OFF" blast to the IR receiver, telling it to shut down. Actually, I think I would space the IR commands by maybe 30 seconds, just in case I'm still watching a flick or something. This way, I can cancel the timer function.

Gee, you would think that the folks that designed the MX-3000 would have incorporated a RTC to handle this function.

Man, if you build that circuit you mind posting the schematics and code, that may be what I have to end up doing as well

Does it have like a sleep mode that it automatically goes into after a certain amount of idol time? Like so the brightness dims and doesnt waste bulb life?

Idol Time? As in after a DVD finishes? Most players have an option for that don't they?

It DOES have an option of background color(For Idle use), it defaults to Blue- but you can select Black as well.
See Page 34 of the owners manual:
