PDP-507CMX- How well will it serve you out of the box?

Apparently there are various chips and such that people like to add onto this particular model because it is a professional one.

My question is, if you just buy this model, set it up, use the DVI port for movie watching, and that's it, is it still going to be a quality set? Are seperately sold chips required to set this TV apart from the pack?

Or will Pioneer's picture quality still be making everything else look mediocre with no additional tinkering required?

Is anyone familiar with this professional model?

Is there perhaps a board or thread for this model that I could be directed to?

Use the search buttons. There are multiple threads devoted to this stuff.
You need:
-HDMI to DVI Cable
-Pioneer video card with component input to enable HDCP on DVI.
An external HDMI switcher if you are going to be using multiple sources

Thanks for the reply. A few more questions,

Do you know what is the best video card for this model under $200?

How difficult is it to install the card?

Plugs in like a board in a computer, easy.

I see. So I just unscrew a panel where one of the component slots are, and plug in the board?

Would you recommend this plasma?

Thank you. I'm looking at your site and wondering if you also offer the PDP-5004 card for the plasma. This way I might order both together.

You think this is a better combo than perhaps a 50PX600U? I know the 600U has more options out of the box, but would this Pioneer not be a little better in the picture department?

Thanks again.

Also the Panasonic TH-50PH9UK is a great one to look at right now if you are looking at pro sets.

Thanks again.

600U might be a little more user friendly, but the Pioneer would be more tweakable.
