What projector and lens comb0 are you using?

I use the Panamorph UH380 Lens and M380 sled along with the Lumagen HDQ scaler.

With the current powerbuy you can get:

That puts you at your 6K mark (a little less - the HDQ can be had for less - contact AVS).

Very happy, I can't imagine a better price/performance ratio.
With the scaler in there - you can use the JVC projector, and if you could go with the HDP/Pro scaler to save money if you can live with 2 fewer digital inputs.

PS. I am a former Prismasonic 1200 user - I like the Panamorph better.

I have a 4 year old Sony HS10 and a DIY lens, total cost around $2600. Using an HTPC as the scalar.

You don't want a squeeze function your want a vertical stretch function. and if your projector does not do it some DVD players do not that, that helps with non DVDs
I have an Optoma H77 and the UH380. Both the H77 and 2 of my DVD players all do the vertical stretch.

Mits. HD1000 and the pana. P752. I'm shooting a 8' wide 2.35:1 DIY PVC screen. My room is 14'X25'. My sound is "7.1" with hd-dvd and blu-ray players and a HTPC for sd dvd movies.

I'm using an Optoma H78 with an ISCO II, though I'm moving house and the pj is staying with the house, so I'll be looking at an upgrade in the near future. I'm taking the ISCO with me though.

I'm not sure there are any HD players that do the stretch. Of course if you don't find a lens you won't need the stretch either.

Gary, do you find you need to refocus with the isco II when it's moved? I know you have a slide and I didn't, so I'm wondering if that makes a difference.

Infocus 777, Isco III, CineSlide. The ground glass lenses are beautiful. No refocus, no off center image shift.

I actually don't have a slide. I used to have a Prismasonic with pass through mode, but found no visible difference with scaling and pass through, so stopped using it. I now only use the ISCO II with it fixed and scale all ratios accordingly.

The ISCO II does change the image size slightly, and probably the focus too, so it's not the ideal lens to use if you want to move it out of the way for 16:9.

Marantz VP11-S1 & Benq W10000 and Isco III lens, lens and projectors mounted behind seats on shelf so only manual sled, lens doesnt get moved from the Marantz, if I want 16:9 I just drop down the 110" dalite highpower electric screen and flick on the Benq W10000

It then depends on if he wants to leave the lens in place all the time or remove it for the smaller ARs. H-squeeze (I can use the 4 x 3 mode) is needed for optical correct 16:9 images...

In fact, just got the replacement RS1 running and all seems fine so far (I sure hope it keeps running well). If that continues, I will mount it and the lens in their permanent places tomorrow and try to post a picture....

I have infocus 7210 vertical stretch with a anamorph 100 I bought in 2002. I guess I have been one of the first (used the nec 260k back then).

My new set will arrive from france at the end of the month I hope (diy coated prisms).

RS1 and Prismasonic H-FE1500R.

Working well. I have zero bowing and very sharp focus.

RS-1 and a AussieMorphic lens; max throw from about 22' or so. Very little vertical or horizontal projector offset. Under those conditions I see no pincushioning at all and the light cone at the AussieMorphic lens is pretty small, about 1"-1-1/2".

The lens does cause a little softening of focus. When I look at the pixel grid while close to the screen, I can see the effect of the lens on the grid lines as they are not as sharp as with the lens in use.

However, I've got no complaints on picture quality. The difference is small. There is a much bigger difference in picture sharpness when going from SD to HD DVDs.

I currently have an Optoma h78 and a prismasonic H600lens. Overall I like the combo, but I do need to refocus slightly when switching between ratios. In the future I plan to get a 1080p projector and a vertical squeeze lens. This will allow me to put the projector at the back of the room by extending the throw ratio compared to a horizontal stretch lens. I will then just scale the HDTV stuff and leave the lens in place all the time. This will make it more user friendly for the whole family. With 1080 x1920 I don't think I'll notice the slight loss in resolution for the HDTV stuff.

I have a Panasonic AE700 projector with a panamorph U85 lens that I purchased during the recent powerbuy back in April. The combination works well. I use an HTPC to do the vertical stretch.

Using a JVC RS1 with Prismasonic H-FE1500R with Anthem D2 doing the scaling and Video processing. Magnificent! Screen is DIY 10.5 foot wide screen painted with Misty Evening-ish paint.

7.1 system consists of Energy Connoisseur RC-70s, DLS RC-55, 2 pairs Energy Connoisseur Surrounds, Sunfire True Subwoofer Mark II.

Sounds Excellent!
