Excellent. Nice imaging, smooth top end,great bass. I only wish sound stage could be better, again I think it may be because of placement. I only have 5' between left and right speakers and 10" from the back wall. I tried to move closer to the wall, but it sounded very boom.
I am also looking for some good deals on C60. Seems like expensive compared C607!!

I know, and I don't think the C60 CEN really matches the C607's. Could we get some feedback on the center from anyone?

Because the woofers are only 4", I think they should have used the 6" from the 607's. I would like to try the C60CEN vs. a C603 used as a center and see how that pans out. Looking at the specs. on the web site the 603 would be better for deeper vocals.

Has anyone heard the E660 and E680 towers before? And how do they compare to the current 600 line?

I agree with you in terms of the concept of ideally you want the drivers to be the same, but I can tell you that the C60 CEN is an excellent match with the C607 and that this C60 CEN is a very good sounding center channel.

I have considered trying one of my C603 with the C607, just to see how it would sound; but haven't actually done it, yet. When I can, I'll give it a shot. But it may not be for a while.

Otherwise, the C60 CEN is a real nice center channel and integrates well with the C607.

Damn!, floor standers for 99 or 129, that's a helluva deal. I searched around and found a few reviews and all were very positive.

I don't know very much about Jamo speakers, but I know they are owned by Klipsch group. I found a great deal on the E660 and E680 at WWStereo.com. They certainly look nice! Does anyone know anything about these?

Some suggestions.......

Pull your C607 forward just a few inches.......just far enough for the front baffles to be ahead of the TV Stand/equipment rack. Even if you only pull them forward enough for the front baffles to be only 1/4 of an inch ahead of the TV Stand/equipment rack.

It will make a difference. It will prevent any extremely immediate reflections off of the TV Stand/equipment rack. Your bass will also improve a bit.

Your soundstage is going to be rather tight, because of the small distance between the C607.

I would also move them each at least two or three inches from the TV Stand, to the left side and right side.

Putting a little more space between the C607's and the TV stand will be beneficial.

Try it and see how it sounds. Should open things up a little bit for you.

One other thing.

It looks to me like you have at least a foot .....to a foot and a half towards that big potted plant.

You may want to experiment with moving the whole TV stand towards the potted plant ......maybe 10 inches or so towards the potted plant. That will allow you to move your C607 a little further apart and get a bigger soundstage.

Listen, I'm just making suggestions to try help you make the best of your setup, with the amount of space you have to work with. I know you have a limited space to work with. But these little placement tweaks will make some improvements for you.

1+, it looks as if you have plenty of room to move them out and further apart.

I am quite happy the way they sound. Just feel like missing soundstage sometimes.
I did try to move them apart but sounded little boomy. Right now, right speaker is 2'6" from the sidewall and left speaker is 3'4" from the side wall. so, thereisn't actually much space. I will try some experiments this week end and see how they sound.

I understand. But I'm just trying to help you get the best out of what you have to work with. That's all.

BTW and for informational purposes, your right speaker is the one closest to the potted plant. And when you hook the speaker wire from your amp, it should be "Right" output/speakerwire to that speaker.

Your Left speaker is closest to your fireplace. And when you hook the speaker wire from your amp, it should be "Left" output/speakerwire to that speaker.

You have to determine Left and Right from the speaker's/TV's perspective, facing you. Not from your prespective in the listening/viewing postion, facing the speakers and TV.

I have a friend who made that exact mistake and his soundstage was all messed up and never sounded good. Until I discovered he had the Left and Right mixed up.

Oh really !! I also made the same mistake then. I thought it didn't matter.
I will reverse left and right in AMP and check.

This link has the price and models. Fronts are e850's, rears are e530's, with an e8sub The guy was asking $600, but he's dropped to $500. You also get a polk csi5 center.

That model has been out of production for a few years as far as I can find on info. (UK web site listed 2000), I would try and low ball at 300 then top out at 375 or 400, if he/she doesn't bite offer to leave your number and if decides to meet your price to give you a call, be sure to put in there mind your going to buy something soon so they don't dally around long. This is what I would do, it's really up to you.

Thanks Rustdust. My original post last week mentioned that I already made my purchase, I was just wondering about these speakers in general. Being new to Jamo, and not being able to find much info about the 850's, I was just curious. (and I figured I might be doing someone a favor in this thread by noting that there are some Jamo's available in Salt Lake.)

Had the speakers been in black, I would have gone over and auditioned them.

I have no idea what the Jamo E850 sound like. Never heard them.

But if they are even just okay .....to good enough.... speakers, $450.00 for that whole setup...seems like a nice deal.

They were 300 Pounds (GBP) in the UK, when they were available (2000- 2004). I don't recall what the conversion rate was back then, but that make them some where in the $455.00 to $540.00 a pair here in the USA; depending on the coversion rate.

And that's just for a pair of Jamo E850. So that seems like a great deal.

But the big and most important question. How good of a speaker are they?

Out of curiosity what did you end up with Todd.

I found a good deal on some Polk RTIa5's, and went with the CSIa4 center. I already had Polk RC80i surrounds in my ceiling (needed them to be invisible in the room). Last week UPS delivered my SVS PB12-nsd. All of this started with me upgrading a sony htib to a Pioneer 1018ah-k receiver.

A local shop sells polks (i'm sure everyone can say that), and considering I liked my inlaws RTi8's, I figured I couldn't lose with the RTia5's. It also didn't hurt that I found them for $630 for the pair.

I was seriously considering these Jamo's, but the color was the nail in the coffin. Which is a shame, I actually kinda like the blonde/black combo. It just wouldn't have worked in my particular room.

Edit: I had contacted the guy selling the Jamo's, I was thinking about buying the CSi5 center (black). I'm sure I could have had it for $75-$100, but it was barely too tall to fit on the shelf under my t.v. I was kinda bummed.

That sounds like a nice system, exgirlfriends brother has or had the Polk RTi 5 that I liked.

I saw that also but was wondering the mains and center timbre match.

I don't know, they don't have the center listed at WWS, there were a couple on ebay.

wwstereo now has several packaged systems with the S 60 center. I think the S center is a step up from the E series. It definitely has a nicer finish with the gloss black baffle.

I have one pair each of E660's and E680's at home right now. Still trying to break them in but really love the sound of the E680's so far. Haven't put much time in on the 660's yet.

The pictures on the site aren't very good, the speakers look much better in person.

Keep us up to date on the E680's and E660's, I know they have been discontinued for a couple of years but damn that's a good deal for some towers of there stature.

Do you think the sound will match. Everyone says the fronts need to match. Seems like a good deal.
