Got the S506 front and S50 center, everything is hooked up and pumping!, really glad with my purchase, havent listened to any music yet just watched some movies but what i heard so far i really like, the BA soundware S sats do a great job as surrounds and rear surrounds but the star of the system is the Jamo 660 Sub, nice chemistry going on with the Jamo mains!, very happy! wink.gif ..........will comment more once the speakers are broken in, so far they sound bright but detailed, and bright in a pleasant way, i think the Denon Avr 1912 is a nice match for the Jamos, they sound very happy with it!

My father is going to get the S606HC3 system for his room and he got offered a Pioneer VSX-826-k used for 3 months for just a 100 euro!, would this be ok for the Jamo's?, cant even find half a review for this receiver! unbelievable!

I just placed my order from sound distributors for the Jamo s606 hcs3 for $425. Unfortunately I received an email today saying they are out of stock and my order has been cancelled. Does anyone here know where I can find this system for a decent price? I really want this system.
Id like to slightly elevate the 506 speakers to ear level, is it advisable to put floor standing speakers on a stand? sounds weird but i really need to set them up more at ear level, anyone knows if it will effect sq badly since the speakers werent designed for this? if not do you know where can i find some low decent stands for them?, thanks in advance.

You can get the towers here.

I have the matching s60 center and s602 surrounds that I'd sell you for a good price.

Where are you located?

In Georgia. Thanks Afrogt! Have you purchased from these guys or know people that have before or did you just come across these websites? (Just want to make sure they are reliable). Either way thanks because I really want these.
Nope, never purchased from either. Just found them doing a search.

Call the second site and see if they're willing to lower the price of the s606 package. Never hurts to ask. If they're not selling they might be willing to deal. The $8.95 shipping is a good deal.
I have asked several questions on this website and read thousands of posts. You have always been helpful. Well I'm off to buy me some Jamo speakers. Thanks Afrogt.

Hi guys, anyone ever bi-amped a pair of S506 towers, if yes did you notice any difference?, i was thinking of using the surround back channels of the avr since im using a 5.1 setup
post #5531 of 5635
You should go ahead and try it that way you'll know for sure if there is a difference....

I guess thats it, dont wont to get the placebo effect, there seems to be a lot of mixed feelings about bi-amping, some say its useless, some can notice a huge difference, maybe you really got to have a good trained ear to hear it.

phorthos,I bought my s506hcs system from garrett about three years ago and had no problem with them.I think they are in washington state and shipping took a few extra days to get to me in florida but I had a good experience with them.
So....i was lucky enough to get the same setup like mine in the same room and could do A/ B comparisons with a Denon avr 1912 and a pair of s506's bi-amped, and another avr 1912 with a pair of s506's non bi-amped, both setups connected to an individual htpc playing the same sources at the same time.

Both at the same listening output (-15db) the bi-amped version of the system sounded louder as expected, i used a psychedelic trance album which i auditioned many times before and knew that sometimes during high pitched pad sweeps the tweeter would sound very harsh, to the point i would just lower the main volume, well with the bi-amped system not only it didnt act that way but the tweeter almost sounded as it was replaced for a new one. So far so good but it doesnt end there, i set the speakers to large to give a "full" range signal to the speakers playing the same album and the fat, fast acid bass lines gelled much better to the kick drum revealing much more mid to high detail and great presence.

Obviously very happy with the end results, and if anyone got a 5.1 setup with another 2 channels available and not thinking of going 7.1 (in my case cause i have a small room) i would strongly recommend bi-amping your l/r speakers, all it costed me was absolutely nothing since i had left over cable smile.gif

Just bough old Jamo 98 two-way speakers, 80 cms high smile.gif For 100$.
Not sure, whether it was the best buy, but they sound quite good smile.gif With H/K AVR170.
Have a question though: do I somehow take care of them, since they are 12 years old?
Maybe to prevent "drying out"?
I am a newbie, so, please, no hard critics.
Thanks!

New to home theater. I just bought the Jamo s426 and Jamo sub 210 at Frys today for $302, which I hope is a good price. Anyway, can somebody recommend me a good receiver that can drive this system? My budget is 200 for the receiver.

I got a pair of energy EF-500 for $50 at sears 3 days ago brand new 😋

These are the same as the Jamos S426, which I also have a pair of. The only difference is the Energy cabinet is darker.

For $200 I would recommend a refurbished unit from accessories4less.com.

Sounds like a plan. Now to decide between the denon 1612 or the 1613. Network play is not a big concern for me

So i'm inheriting a system from my father in law (he's moving to a new place no media room there).

It contains

2 Jamo C605 speakers (floor mount)
1 Jamo C60 Center
2 Jamo C60 surround
1 Jamo Sub 250
1 Integra 5.9 sound system

I also own an svsound PB10-NSD, and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on how the SVSound sub would compare to the Jamo 250.
SVS sub will be better than the Jamo 250...much better.

The Jamo is a 8" that is rated down to 30hz. The PB10-NSD is larger, much more powerful and plays much deeper. Not really a fair comparison.

The other Jamo speakers are very good though.

Congrats!

I sort of figured that, just wasn't sure if a sub was similar to other speakers that you want to "go together".

Thanks!

What speaker stands are you guys with C601's using?
Dimension of the Jamo C601: Product dimensions in inches (HxWxD) 8.8 x 5.1 x 7.9

So a stand with a 5 x 5 top plate would work well.

The Sanus 31B should do the trick, 5 x 5 top plate.

Blu Tack or Velcro Squares will hold the speaker in place.

Hey all, just wanted to stop in and say hi to everyone enjoying their Jamo's. Just went down into my basement and stared at my 4 s606 towers and my c80 center today under the blankets. Moved last August and have no man cave to set them up in. Man do I miss their sweet sound! Hopefully I can have that man cave up by summer 2014, but we just had a baby so you all know how they can consume your time and money resources! Trying to hunt down some c80 center speakers.

If anyone is in the Wisconsin area there is a guy on craigslist in the Madison area selling 2 c809's and c80 surrounds. I've seen them on there for over a year, I bet he's ready to deal! If they were black and not the apple color I'd have already scooped them up!

Hope to be able to have a new AVR with preouts and then get me an emotiva 5 channel amp to put on my Jamo's to really make them shine (and keep up with my CHT SS 18.2 which is going to get another DIY 18 or 2 this time around)

Anyone here using C80 series with just a receiver? I currently have C607, C60 cen, SUB 650 and I'm looking to pick up some C60 SUR's. I've been using a Pioneer VSX-32 to power the C60 and they sound great. Anyways, the reason I'm asking is because I just picked up a Pioneer SC-1522K and was thinking of upgrading to the C809, C80 cen, and C80 sur. Do you guys think the SC-1522K will power them or do I need to add an amp?

The impedance and sensitivity on the C809 is the exact same as the C607 so it should not be any harder to power them.

I just purchased a pair of new C603 bookshelf speakers. They seem pretty large and heavy for a bookshelf. Eventually I do plan to use the mounting brackets and wall mount them at my house, but in the interim I am in an apartment and need some stands. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive yet sturdy speaker stand that will hold these speakers and not easily tip them?

I recently upgraded my speaker system to the following but I have no sub:

2x Jamo c607
2x Jamo c603
1x Jamo c60 CEN

All powered by an Onkyo 876. I currently live in an apartment, so is there any point in getting a subwoofer?

Nice speakers smile.gif

Depends on your neighbors and your listening habits. Adding a sub would take some of the strain off of your Onkyo AVR and should give you a fuller sound even at lower volumes.
