46" 1080P Survey and Opinions

Thread Starter
I thought it'd be nice just to see everyone's opinions on which LCD they thought was the best out there. I think we should do 1080P because it's obviously the latest thing and do 46" seeing as how there is a larger selection than 52".

I would be nice if this thread could remain friendly. By that I mean not having a bunch of responses of poeple quoting someone's previous post in order to discredit them and further thier own opinion. Please only respond to someone posts a completely inacurate fact. For example if someone says a TV has 3 HDMIs when really it only has 2, then respond. But if someone feels that contrast, detail, and/or motion are better on a certain TV then don't respond even if manufacturer specs say different. I think we all know how inconsistent one manufactuer's specs can be from anothers.

Mitsubishi's 46" models from last year were very good. The JVC's also got a lot of good press, but were slightly lacking in that they didn't receive 1080p. In the 47" category I think you will find a lot of very happy Olevia 747i owners out there. Everyone else just had too many issues last year (overscan on Samsung, clouds on Sony, banding on Sharp). With most of this year's models still on the horizon, including new offerings from Mitsubishi and JVC, it will be interesting to see where things stand a year from now.

Every year manufacturers come out with a new and improved television. That's progress... and marketing. I waited for a few years to buy a new flat panel and just purchased a Sharp Aqous LC-46D92U with a Toshiba HD-A20 HD-DVD Player. The Sharp is great (no banding or any other issues). I'm sure that next year something different and improved may come out but I'm extremely happy with my purchase (other choice was Sony 46" XBR3 but the Sharp was less money, had a better picture IMO and was newer technology). Just go out and buy what you think you like and fits your needs. Nuff said!

Good luck!
