They don't make a difference either. We're talking straight unpacking here - no analog anything. Whether the receiver gets a TrueHD bitstream, upacks it, and *then* "touches" it.... or whether the player decodes the TrueHD to LPCM, sends it over to the receiver, and then
it gets touched, the decoding is a digital - and thus transparent - step in the process. The only thing that matters in such a context is speed of decoding; quality is identical in the end result.
